Jesus In Region of Tyre and Sidon

Jesus enters the Gentile region of Tyre and Sidon.

Jesus enters a house and he did not want anyone to know he was there.

A Gentile woman approaches Jesus in the house and falls at his feet.

She begs Jesus to cast a demon out of her daughter.

Jesus and Syro-Phoenecian Woman

Jesus tells her that the children of Israel must be fed first – it is not right to give the children’s bread to dogs.

In faith she responds by saying that even the dogs eat the children’s crumbs.

Jesus is deeply moved by her faith and he casts out the demon.

Jesus’ Response to Persistent Faith

1) Jesus responded to her persistent faith by revealing his divine plan to her.

2) Jesus responded to her persistent faith as she persevered through numerous obstacles.

3) Jesus responded to her humility with power and authority.

The people begged Jesus to lay his hand on a man that was deaf and had a speech impediment.

Jesus Heals the Man Jesus put his fingers into the man’s ears

then spit on his fingers and touched the man’s tongue.

Jesus looked to heaven, sighed, and with divine authority commanded his ears and mouth to be opened.

Jesus then tells the people not to speak of this to anyone.

The Gentile Response

The more Jesus tells them to keep quiet the more they spoke of what he has done.

They were astonished beyond measure.

They said that Jesus had done all things well.
