Perseverance

Gwen is the representative for the character trait perseverance because, she has shown strength in spite of the challenges that may come her way. Gwen is friendly and displays independence in all the activities that she pursues.

Jose is able to stick to something and complete a task even though a difficult circumstance may try to prohibit him from finishing. He sets a goal, makes a commitment to complete the goal and follows through on his commitment. Jose is a great student and has learned a lot since he started school so he deserves the perseverance award.

Josmar is such a bright and precious student! He perseveres constantly.  Josmar came to my classroom without speaking English.  He was quiet and quite reserve.  As time has passed, Josmar has taken the initiative to learn as much English as he possibly can.  He constantly asks questions when he does not understand and raises his hand to answer questions that his teacher asks.  Even though he may not have the correct answer, he never gives up...he continues to try until he succeeds.  Hooray for Josmar!

 Jarrett has worked very hard to get through his first months of school. He has pushed through and overcome his fears and nervousness to become a model student. His greets me with a smile every morning and works hard to learn all day, everyday! I am so very proud of Jarrett and the progress he has made because of his determination!!!

King is our student for Perseverance because he ALWAYS tries hard and does his very BEST. King enjoys reading and loves to learn new words so he can read books to his friends. He tries to master ALL of his schoolwork and when he is successful, he shares his knowledge with others.

Ciron has showed nothing but perseverance from the moment he stepped into the classroom. At the beginning of the school year he acknowledged that he wanted to improve and put his mind to it. He has grown by 10 reading levels this year, has become a true mathematics wizard, went from barely writing to just recently finishing his own book, and has developed into a little gentleman and good citizen in our classroom. This transformation has not been easy for him but never did Ciron give up or stop trying, which is why he is the true essence of perseverance!

Even though Natalia has only been here a short time, she tries her best at all times.  Though she may not know how we do things in the classroom, she is always willing to do something close to what she thinks is expected.  Though quiet, Natalia aims to please her teacher.  This is a new school for her and it is not easy to make friends so late in the year, but Natalia has proven to be a friend to all of the students.  It takes a courageous spirit to befriend people and she definitely possesses it.

Chic'Quara Anderson shows perseverance by never giving up.  She is determined when it comes to her success.  She has been working extremely hard and she should be proud.

Princess has shown perseverance many times this year. She continuously tries her hardest on all assignments no matter how difficult. She also will use all her resources to continue them. Not only has she done this in academics but I have seen this in her artistic skills and her natural cheer leading abilities on the playground.

He has shown Perseverance this month and all school year by trying new things in class even when he is unsure of the answer. Jordyn has become a better reader this year by volunteering to read aloud and trying hard words. He doesn't worry what other students think and he tries to always better himself by taking chances. He raises his hand and asks for help even if he is the only student who doesn't understand. Jordyn is a student that displays perseverance.

Mychael has shown perseverance this year with improving her reading skills.  Mychael tried really hard, and she read a lot of books at home.  She also showed a lot of improvement on her AR tests.  Through her perseverance, Mychael has shown a lot of growth!!!

Rynaja Wilson is the person in my class who best represents perseverance. Whether she's working on a hard math problem or pushing through to finish a project, she never gives up.  She always tries her best!

Nadia shows perseverance by continuing to work hard with the drive and determination to pass her EOG's. She doesn't give up when the work is difficult. Nadia steadfastly holds on to her route.

Dameion really enjoys math and has been successful learning his multiplication facts.  He has progressed far beyond most of the others in my class, demonstrating the character trait of perseverance.  I am very proud of him.  Every time he does well on a test, he asks me if he can take it home to show his mother.  This accomplishment means a great deal to him.

 Hubert shows perseverance in every aspect of his academic career. When he comes across an obstacle he takes the time to stop and consider his options before making a choice. When he encounters a challenging question, he uses the testing skills taught in class to help him discover the correct answer. His hard-work and patience have truly paid off for him on his 3rd Nine Weeks Exam. He scored the top 5 for our class in both reading and math!

Mariah showed perseverance by continuing to participate in the Read-a-thon even though she was not chosen student of the week. At the end, she was finally chosen. I'm proud of her for that.

Talija  is a student who is always looking to achieve greatness. She is a great reading student who loves to help others and is always looking for extra work to complete.
