PERSECUTION RELIEF

��Christians constitute around 2.3 percent of the total population in India. Every day, there are atleast two cases of persecution witnessed in India. In 2020, Persecution Relief has recorded 450 cases of Christian Persecution between January to September.

Do these numbers concern you? Or, do you feel a fit of rage and anger within you? Possibly a strong sense of accusation for the government authorities and our non-Christian brothers and sisters? All of these are genuine feelings and expression of the hurt we experience when we see our beloved brothers and sisters being persecuted. However, we must never forget our identity in Christ.

In John 15:20, Jesus clearly states, “Remember what I told you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.” The Bible also tells us in 2 Timothy 3:12, “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”

Our prayer shouldn’t be to stop persecution, but we should pray to equip us to bear the burden of persecution. We should call out His name to comfort the persecuted brothers and sisters and those around them. We should intercede for God to allow a heart transformation of the persecutor and finally, we should pray that there is an unstoppable advancement of the Gospel.

Prayer is our greatest weapon when His Church is being persecuted. As Martin Luther says, “None can believe how powerful prayer is, and what it is able to effect, but those who have learned it by experience.”

Our monthly prayer calendar is a humble effort to consolidate the persecution cases reported recently. We urge you to join us in praying for the persecuted because when the Church prays together, there is deliverance. We witness it firsthand through Jesus’ teachings in Matthew 18:19, “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.”

Praise God that he has gifted each of His children with divine weapons, and we are more than conquerors to participate in the war against the darkness that rules the world. Let’s raise our voices in prayers meditating on 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

Prayer:

Dear Lord, we thank you for the joy of meeting and uniting with the persecuted family of Christ. Every ear that heard

those beautiful, faith-filled testimonies be encouraged to serve you more fervently. You alone are the stronghold for

your children who are being persecuted for their faith. We are assured that their names are written in the Hall of

Fame of Heaven. Lord, comfort your persecuted children and let them be the light that shines through the utter

darkness of the perishing souls around them. Strengthen and comfort the persecuted, and be their Jireh (the

Provider) as they faithfully serve you.

We also pray that you empower Persecution Relief to serve your persecuted children prayerfully, financially,

politically, and judicially.

Lord we pray that you would give your Church the burden for the persecuted. Let our hearts break for what breaks

your heart. When one suffers, all suffer!

We pray that persecution would not let any Christian slide back from their faith and run away from their purpose.

Instead, let every child of yours persevere in boldness and courage.

Abba, turn many Saul (persecutor) to be Paul (apostle), and by the Holy Spirit, let the persecutors of the Church

would have a ‘Road to Damascus-like’ experience and become forerunner’s like Paul, for the Gospel.

God, we pray that your perfect love would cast out all fear. Being filled with the Holy Spirit, the Persecuted Church

would show great courage amid persecution.

We pray not for persecution to stop but we rather pray that every Christian would be firmly grounded and stand

strong by the power of the Holy Spirit, during times of persecution.

Brief:

On Oct 1st 2020, Persecution Relief was guided by the Spirit of God to commemorate the 4th Indian Day of Prayer

for The Persecuted (ICDPP).

ICDPP is a celebration for the faithful warriors of Christ who are joyfully serving the Lord, despite discouraging

circumstances and intensifying persecution. We united as the body of Christ in prayers and praised God and blessed

His holy name for the beautiful and encouraging testimonies.

Meditation:

Matthew 5:10-12 ~ “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of

heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because

of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the

prophets who were before you.”

Brief: In Punjab, 7-8 fanatics barged into the Church and started firing. Prince, a youngster lost his life in the firing, while another young man is critically injured. The incident is said to be a consequence of a family dispute.

Meditation:Revelation 6:11“And there was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should rest for a little while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, would be completed also.”

Prayer Points:•Pray for the recovery ofthe injured young man inthe shooting.• Pray that the family ofBrother Prince and theinjured brother becomforted by God.• Pray that the Churchwitnesses in the wisdom,love and authority ofLord Jesus and isredeemed of any fearthat may grip theirhearts.• Pray that the Church bestrengthened in theirfaith after this gruesomeincident.• Pray that the lawkeepers of the state ofPunjab wisely and firmlyestablish peace andjustice against the risinglawlessness and injusticeagainst the Christians.

Brief: In Rajasthan, a fanatic premediated the murder of Pastor Mahesh by asking him to climb an electric post for some repair and then switched on the main line and electrocuted the pastor. Pastor Mahesh is survived by his wife and three young children.

Meditation:Revelation 20:4“Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.”

Prayer Points:• Pray for the protectionand comfort of the wifeand three children ofPastor Mahesh.• Pray that the family andthe Church membersmay experience Christ’sunsurpassable love andbe strengthened in theirfaith.• Pray that the Lordbestows mercy on themurderers andtransforms theirhardened hearts to knowthe truth and be liberatedin Christ.• Pray that the lawkeepers in Rajasthanrise up and take justaction.

Brief: In Uttar Pradesh, Pastor Shailendra Kumar was brought to a hospital in Varanasi in a serious condition with several stab marks and injuries all over his body. He passed away within a few hours but the Police refused to hand over the body to the family saying that he died from Covid-19. His wife has denied all allegations about the Pastor being ill and said that he was perfectly fine when he left home that morning.

Meditation:Revelation 2:10“Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.”

Prayer Points:• Pray that the persecutorsof Pastor Shailendra areconvicted of their sinsand come forward andacknowledge their crimeand be transformed inthe love of Christ.• Pray that the family ofPastor Shailendra becomforted by JesusChrist Himself, and letthem be strengthened intheir faith.• Pray for Uttar Pradeshand the governmentofficials and judiciary thatthey act justly and actupon the growinglawlessness againstChristians and otherminorities.

Hate Campaigns/Speeches

group’s page on the messaging app ‘Telegram’ was shared with Persecution Relief. It revealed shocking details of plans of a mass killing of Christians (and other minorities) and strategies to block media accounts of Persecution Relief.

The Facebook and other social media accounts restored normalcy from Oct 6th, 2020.

Meditation: John 15:18“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.”

Prayer Points:• Pray that the religious fanatic groups who spread hate messages and communal disharmony may come to see and dread the true Lord, the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. • Pray that the evil plans and strategies of such fanatic groups be thwarted according to the sovereign will of God. • Pray that the social media accounts of Persecution Relief becomes a catchment area, where God alone can melt the hardened hearts of the perpetrators and allow them to pick the baton of the Gospel and serve Him faithfully.• Pray that Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg experiences an intimate encounter with Lord and let his steps be guided by the truth and righteousness of the Living God.

Brief: Between Sep 28th and Oct 5th, Persecution Relief’s Facebook page and other social media pages faced temporary suspension. Social media sites are one of the pivotal platforms to report the intensifying persecution cases in India, so that Christians around the world can join us in prayers. Our priority is to also to urge the Church in India to love and pray for the persecutors of Christians, with our motto being, ‘Serve Persecuted-Love Persecutors’. We do not make hate speeches or propagate violence. Instead we promote forgiveness towards those who hate us on account of our Christian faith.

In the month of September, we wrote an open letter to Mark Zuckerberg, reporting how Facebook is being used to spread hate and communal violence in India. A couple of weeks later, we noticed that our page which used to reach 6.9 million users in a month, was suddenly restricted to just 5 to 6 views per day. We received information that our official Facebook page (facebook.com/persecutionrelief) had been falsely reported by a religious extremists’ group called ‘No Conversion’.

• Pray for this beloved sister and many other brothers and sisters who are

ridiculed for the sake of their faith in the One True God.

• Pray that God convicts the persecutors of their sin and lead them to repentance

and transformation. Let Lord intervene in His grace and peace, His might and

mercy.

Brief:

Persecution Relief received a video of a women being harassed and beaten and

asked to spit on the Bible because of her faith.

Meditation:

“Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a

faithful Creator while doing good."

Prayer:

• Pray that God would raise up an army of faithful prayer warriors to pray for the situation of Christian persecution in

India.

• Pray that very prayer warrior experience a personal intimacy with Christ and the Word of God as they intercede for

the persecutors and the persecuted.

Brief:

Persecution Relief is privileged to have ‘Prayer Warriors’ like you, who are genuinely and diligently praying for the

persecuted Church and the persecutors of the Church in India. There is great power in prayer. However, it is not to be

taken lightly. We lay great emphasis on prayer. The word of God and fervent prayer are the rock-solid foundation of

every child of God. Through prayer, we make requests known and also receive answers.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our

message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly,

as I should.”

Prayer:

• Thank and praise God for the life of the Christian Missionary, Mr. Graham Staines, who fought the good fight glorifying

Jesus Christ till the end.

• Pray for the divine justice for Mr. Graham’s case and many who were afflicted by his brutal murder.

• Pray for Satya Pal Singh to be brought into repentance and let his heart be transformed by the Holy Spirit.

Brief:

During a debate at the Lok Sabha session on the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, commonly known as

FCRA, Satya Pal Singh, the BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh lebrally made baseless allegations against the renowned Christian

Missionary, Mr. Graham Staines. He accused Mr. Staines of converting tribal people with the help of foreign funds and

sexually molesting 30 tribal girls.

Meditation:

Psalms 35:20

“They do not speak peaceably, but devise false accusations against those who live quietly in the land.”

Prayer:• Pray that the shame and suffering of these tribal Christians fill them with the never ending love of Christ and invigorate

their eternal hope in the Lord Jesus.

• Pray that the persecutors who bring false accusations against these innocent tribal Christians are convicted of their sins

and renewed by the Spirit of God.

• Pray that the police and other government officials in Jharkhand rise up to deal with the injustice meted to the tribal

Christians. Let the government officials be filled with God’s wisdom, truth and justice.

• Pray for activists like Neel Justin Beck who fearlessly are doing their philanthropic work.

Brief:

Several tribal Christians are again being persecuted for unsubstantiated accusations of cow slaughter, in Bherikudar of

Simdega district in Jharkhand - though this is the first instance since the new coalition government took charge in Dec

2019. The previous regime was characterized by various lynching. Seven Christians were beaten, some tonsured and

forced to chant "Jai Shri Ram" in their village on 16-Sep, 2020. A police complaint did not bring necessary action or public

disclosure, until Neel Justin Beck, a social activist, informed the local media, and then some arrests were made.

False Complaints/False Accusations

Prayer:

• Pray for the protection and comfort for Pastor Santosh, his family and his church members.

• Pray for continued faithfulness of our Lord Jesus to enable Pastor Santosh’s church grow.

• Pray that many unsaved souls know Christ through him and his church.

Brief:

In Uttar Pradesh, Pastor Santosh was held in custody under false accusations of forced conversions in return of money. He

was held in the custody for six hours and later released.

Meditation:

Psalm 109:3-5

“They have also surrounded me with words of hatred, And fought against me without cause.

In return for my love they act as my accusers; But I am in prayer.

Thus they have repaid me evil for good And hatred for my love.”

Prayer:• Pray for every evil plan to be thwarted & peace and calm to prevail throughout all prayer services, strengthening all.

• Pray for the protection of the Pastors and the churches they lead.

• Pray that every false accusation that the fanatics bring against them leads to the glory of God.

• Pray for a change in the hearts of the persecutors so that they too can taste the love of God.

Brief: 1. Pastor Moti Lal of Ayodhya District, U.P., was accused of forced conversion, booked under IPC 151 section & was

detained in the police station for 7 hours before he was released on bail.

2. Praise God for the release of Pastor Sukbinder Singh of Maharajganj District, UP. He is receiving threats from religious

fanatics to stop prayer meetings.

3. Pastor Harilal had been taken to Police station Halgarpur in Mau District of Uttar Pradesh state.

4. On Oct 11, worship service at Babupur, Bihar was interrupted by fanatics, manhandling a few. Even as police asked the

fanatics not to interfere, they swore to return next Sunday too.

Police that they came to convert, made to sit down on the floor and later released after 6 hours.

6. A Pastor and his son were released after their Sunday service was disrupted by fanatics and pressured the Police to

arrest the pastor for conversions. This incident happened in the Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh.

“For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have

done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”

False Complaints/False Accusations

Prayer:

• Pray for the safety of Pastor Ajay and the church believers and let them be armed with boldness and strength so that no

forces of the darkness can make their faith waiver.

• Pray that Pastor Ajay and the church members do not compromise their faith despite any persecution.

• Pray that God convicts the fanatics for the false complaints they accused Pastor Ajay with. Let the perpetrators be

transformed by the Holy Spirit.

• Pray that the police officials involved in this case are convicted and they operate with justice and fairness as per the law of

the land.

Brief:

Pastor Ajay, ministering in Uttar Pradesh have been facing intensifying persecution. During Sunday Worship service on Oct

4th, a mob of religious fanatics forcefully barged into the service. The mob had badly beaten up Pastor Ajay and the Church

believers. The fanatics also stole cash from the believers and vandalized the Church. Police took no action to the

complaints filed by Pastor Ajay, instead he was summoned by Police multiple times in lieu of false and baseless complaints

filed by the religious fanatics. He was asked by the police to give in writing that he won't conduct prayers anymore, for

which he didn't agree.

Meditation:

“Through You we will push back our adversaries; Through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us.”

Prayer:

• Pray for Pastor Sukha Masih and his church believers, especially for their safety and strengthening of their faith.

• Pray that the church believers are delivered from the cases lodged against them through divine intervention.

• Pray that the fanatics and the police officials in Punjab encounter the Glory of God and be convicted of their sins.

• Pray that the land of Punjab is healed and that every perishing soul in this land can taste the love of Christ.

Brief:

Pastor Sukha Masih from IPC Church was beaten by police in Tarn Taran District of Punjab state. Pastor Sukha’s believers

were lodged under some cases and he went there to help their cases be resolved. He got beaten up by the fanatics and the

police officials, leading to severe injuries.

Physical Attacks/Mob Attacks



Prayer:

• Pray that Lord’s strengthening presence covers Pastor Baiju and his family.

• Pray for the emotional and physical healing of Pastor Baiju and his family.

• Pray that God touches the villagers, the Sarpanch, and the fanatics to transform their hardened hearts to experience the

truth.

• Pray that Pastor Baiju’s ministry grows and let he and his family be the light that shines through the darkness that prevails

in the village.

• Pray that the police officials act with justice and sincerity while they do their jobs.

• Pray that the land of Bihar is healed and that every perishing soul in this land can taste the love of Christ.

Brief:

Pastor Baiju Paswan's personal account of his family's recent ordeal of being harassed and tortured by fanatics before the

Sarpanch Committee and around 50 villagers, all for not forsaking Jesus. He threatened to pay a fine of Rs. 5000, which he

did not have. When he couldn’t pay it, they had ask him to beat himselef 50 times with his shoes and then forced him to hit

his eldest son 10 times with the same shoe. When Pastor Baiju and the son collapsed, they went on to beat and kick his

wife leading her recent surgery stitches to open up and swelling of stomach.

His youngest son was also beaten up, leading to broken legs. He and his family are verbally abused day and night. Pastor

Baiju is accused of extramarital affairs since he continues to do his ministry over the phone during the lockdown. Even

raising a “Hallelujah” can cost their lives as they continue to face social ostracism and severe persecution. Despite all odds,

Pastor Baiju and his family are determined to continue in their faith in Christ.

“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and

follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.”

Prayer:

• Pray for God’s protection and quick healing over Jetel.

• Pray that Jetel and the other believers in the village are strengtehend in

their faith as they face persecution.

• Pray for the Lord's intimate presence with Jetel to be a greater source of

daily power, peace and joy for their witness and ministry.

• Pray that God’s mercy be upon the persecutors and the police officials and

let them get the opportunity to repent of their sins and be transformed.

Brief:

On Oct 6th in the Jagdalpur district of Chhattisgarh, Jetel, a faithful child of

God and disciple of Jesus Christ, was beaten for not giving in to the

demand of local fanatics to forsake his faith, till he collapsed and needed

hospitalization for 3 days. Attack on Jetel is a step towards breaking down

the faith of other believers in the village and inculcate a spirit of fear. Jetel’s

case was reported to the nearby police but they are slow to act as they

seem to be suppressing the case as a support to the fanatics.

Meditation:

“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all

kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.”

Prayer:

• Pray for quick healing for the old lady believer.

• Pray that God Almighty comfort, strengthen, heal & provide for the afflicted.

• Pray that the perpetrators of the crime be brought to justice & repentance.

Brief:

Fanatics disturbed a prayer meeting in Alirajpur, Madhya Pradesh. While worship was being conducted, a few fanatics beat

up the ones who were seen outside the building, leading to leg fracture and injury of an old believer lady and she requires

an immediate surgery as all her bones are crushed in the knee. Even firing was done outside the church.

“For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him.”

Prayer:

• Pray for the protection of Pastor Ravi and his wife and the community members that no harm will touch them and every

plan of the devil be broken in the name of Jesus Christ.

• Pray that the fanatics, especially the witches and the warlocks repent of their sins and get touched by the Holy Spirit and

recognize the true love of God.

• Pray that the Police officials act with justice and righteousness.

• Pray that many may receive healing and deliverance through their faith in Jesus Christ in this tribal community.

Prayer:

• Pray for the safety and protection of Pastor Prakash, Pastor Kumar and the believers in the village.

• Pray that the love of God is experienced by the fellow villagers and the fanatics.

• Pray for the judiciary to do their job fairly with justice and righteousness.

Brief:

Pastor Ravi, his wife Priya and 30 other Christian tribal families are being persecuted for their faith in Maharashtra. Pastor

Ravi’s wife was healed of demon possession though their faith in Jesus, however, this didn’t go well with the fanatics.

Divine healing received by many through their faith in Christ has started affecting the livelihood of the witches and warlocks

in this tribal community. They cannot understand neither believe as how just by sitting at home or attending prayer

meetings, people are getting miraculous healing through their faith in Christ.

As a consequence, Pastor Ravi has been threatened to be beaten up. The fanatics also broke into a Christian wedding

ceremony and threatened everybody. Pastor Ravi has lodged a complaint against the fanatics. Police arrested the fanatics

but then released them soon enough. The fanatics continue to threaten to stop Christian prayer meetings immediately.

“no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the

servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD.”

Meditation:

Psalms 23:4

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your

staff, they comfort me.”

Harassment and Threatening

Brief:

Pastor Prakash & Pastor Kumar were harassed and threatened of dire consequences in Bihar if they conducted prayer

meetings again in the name of Jesus. They were told that the fanatics planned to do a 'homa' (Sanskrit word for a ritual

wherein an oblation is offered into the fire) in the house where fasting prayer was conducted.

Prayer:• Pray for Pastor Yonathan and his team as they need our constant support in prayer as they boldly brace for any eventuality. Pray that they are filled with wisdom and the anointing of the Holy Spirit as they preach the Gospel. • Pray that the merciful God will fill the villagers and the fanatics with a heart of steadfast faith in Christ.• Pray that the police officials act with justice and do not oppress the minorities. • Pray for the land of Andhra Pradesh to experience an outpouring of the Holy Spirit as per His divine will.

Meditation: Philippians 1:21 "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain."

Brief: Pastor Paradesi Yonathan and his Mission Village Team of 8 devout Christian boldly continue to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh. They have started receiving threatening calls claiming to burn their vehicles, beat them up or even kill them, if they do not stop preaching Christ. Police officials have turned a deaf ear and are advising Pastor Yonathan and his team to pay heed to the fanatics and stop preaching the Gospel.

Prayer:• Praise God for His supply of inner strength and assurance to Maya and help through Persecution Relief.• Pray for the Lord's intimate presence with Maya to be a greater source of daily power, peace and joy for their witness and ministry.• Pray that God's holy goodness would continue to manifest to the persecutors through every encounter with followers of Christ. Lord visit them and save them from the eternal death.

Meditation: Acts 4:7-10“They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?” Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people! If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame and are being asked how he was healed, then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.”

Brief: Sister Maya (identity protected) had been touched by God’s love and saving grace when she was about to take her life. She belonged to a Hindu tantric family and was in a tormented state of mind as she battled with sicknesses herself. From the time she accepted Christ, she had been instrumental in praying for the sick and God had been actively working through her by providing healing to many. One night, while May was out to visit a sick to check on the condition, she found herself surrounded by 40-50 fanatics who dragged her to the police station on account of forced conversions. She was threatened for her life, verbally abused in much wickedness, stolen from, assets destroyed, and to top it all had to hear the fanatics being advised by the Police to burn her the next time she is found in any Christian act. This incident from a few weeks back, can shake anyone, especially a single woman late in the night with fanatic enemies.

Prayer:

• Pray that Priya and her family and the 30 Christian families remain strong and steadfast in their faith while God’s

protection be over them.

• Pray that God provides restoration and transformation of hearts of the villagers and the religious fanatics and they all

should be able to taste the love of God.

• Pray that God’s overflowing provision is on Priya and the other Christian members who are being discriminated at their

work for their faith.

• Pray that every perishing soul in Madhya Pradesh are freed from lies and deception of the enemy.

Brief:

Sister Priya (identity protected) and her family has been harassed by the religious fanatics in their extremely hostile village

in Madhya Pradesh. Priya came to faith when she was healed of demonic possession by her faith in Christ, and before

coming to Christ, she has been to many places for her healing but without any effect.

Recently she has been visited by 40-50 fanatics to threaten her to recant her faith. When that failed, she was called into

village committee meetings, where she was surrounded by 200 odd men, who clapped hands and mocked her for the faith

she had in Christ. She was taken to the police station on account of false accusations of forced conversions, however, the

police gave her a clean chit. Priya works for the rural government child care centre and the village fanatics are now putting

pressure for her transfer from her job. She and her family along with 30 other Christian families in the village stands a

chance of being exterminated from the village or any eventuality.

Prayer:• Pray for God’s comfort and protection for the AG Church believers in Siddharthnagar. • Pray that the Church will rejoice in suffering for Christ and in the strength of His promises. • Praise the Lord Jesus for His witness through the lives of the Village head, his family and others who have believed in the Saviour God behind the powerful healings and answers to prayers.• Pray that the police officials work justly and with fairness and allows the liberty to practice the Christian faith. • Pray that the religious fanatics encounter Jesus as they persecute His church and receive a change in heart as Saul did.

Meditation: Luke 21:12-13“But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. 13 And so you will bear testimony to me.”

Brief: AG Church members of a village in Siddharthnagar district of Uttar Pradesh state have been summoned to the local Police station. The village head accepted Christ few years ago when he was healed of mental problems and thereafter he was blessed with children after his wife had been barren for a long time. The faith of the village head has been touching many lives in the village, which has started affecting the religious fanatics. Fanatics are putting pressure on the believers to forsake Christ. The Police were persuaded by fanatics to tell the Church, "do not follow Christ, and renounce your faith - follow any god or godman except Jesus!" The fanatics threatens the villagers to forsake Christ on baseless points such as Christ is a foreign God and that the Bible is written in English.

Prayer:• Pray that the Christians in Kondagaon live boldly to proclaim their faith and let them heal from the persecution they witnessed. • Pray that the government officials take utmost care of the tribal communities and do their job with sincerity and truthfulness.• Pray that the anti-conversion law in Chhattisgarh is retracted and Christians receive the liberty through the will of God to worship and pray without any fear. • Pray that the fanatics experience a change in heart and be repentant of their sins and atrocities.

Meditation: Jeremiah 20:11“But the Lord is with me as a dread warrior; therefore my persecutors will stumble; they will not overcome me. They will be greatly shamed, for they will not succeed. Their eternal dishonor will never be forgotten.”

Brief: A group of religious extremists had instigated the innocent tribal community to rid the district of Kondagaon of every single Christian! This demonstration led 15 homes destroyed, women, children and the elderly harassed and beaten and one woman molested and physically abused. The heads of each family had to flee from their homes and families as the raging groups of fanatics tried to hunt them down.An open letter was written to Sonia Gandhi, the President of the Indian National Congress regarding the intensifying persecution in Chhattisgarh and a positive assurances was received on Oct 12 that such cases not to be repeated and if one does not abide by the rules then Epidemic Act 1897-03 according to IPC Act 188 will be applicable and taken into action.

Prayer:• Pray that every threat for Ghar Wapsi, thrust the Christian heart into deeper communion with Christ! May every blow of hatred resound with blessings of mercy in Jesus!• Pray that God’s divine mercy and protection is showered on these families, including these precious sounding names we know so far: Sunil Munda, his sisters Juspin Kisan and Masicharan Gudiya. • Pray also for the local pastor, Samal Lugun.• Pray that the persecutors are transformed through divine encounter from God.

Meditation: Psalms 31:15“My times are in your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!”

Brief: On Oct 7th, 30 fellow-Christian families in Himra village of Jharsuguda District of Odisha, were dragged out and severely beaten up by local fanatics for following Christ. Neither women nor children were spared! We can be sure that they are following Christ, as they have all come through the experience even surer of their calling! Do we hear our Lord's words, "My kingdom is not of this world, otherwise my servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over." They seem as determined as was Jesus to fulfill His Father's will of the cross! Praise the Lord!

Intense Persecution & Extermination



Prayer:• Pray that Jaya Chandra is protected, motivated & strengthened to remain under the shelter of His wings at all times, to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living..• Pray that his family remind the villagers of the impending judgement so that they would be without excuse on the day of His glorious appearing.• Pray for the state of Odisha – one of the states with Christian persecution – can experience a personal encounter with Jesus, like Saul had.

Meditation: Ephesians 3:16-17“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love”

Brief: Jaya Chandra Pradhan, Kandhamal, Odisha have been facing persecution for the past 12yrs on account of his faith and have held on to Christ's inseparable love for his life & testimony. His house was demolished necessitating him to move to temporary shelters, depriving him of rendering adequate care for his aging parents. With each passing day he's facing increased persecution, life threatening warnings & ostracism from the 74 devout Hindu families around him so that he can look to no human for lending a helping hand even in Agriculture.

Intense Persecution & Extermination



Prayer:• Pray for the Lord's faithful sufficiency shine through these times of unjust loss of their properties and also for the Christians to continue to stand strong in their faith in Jesus Christ.• Pray that the blinded spirit of the fanatics be exposed in the light of God’s glory.

Meditation: Psalms 111:6-9“He has declared to His people the power of His works, in giving them the heritage of the nations. The works of His hands are verity and justice; All His precepts are sure. They stand fast forever and ever, And are done in truth and uprightness. He has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever: Holy and awesome is His name.”

Brief: 1. More than 15 Houses of Christians has been vandalized by Religious fanatics in Bastar Division of Chhattisgarh state in India.

2. Government authorities demolished a small temple built on the road in Gandhi Colony, Faridabad, Haryana. The fanatics have taken the remains of the temple and placed it inside the Church premises of Pastor K.G. Mathew and family.

3. Sunday service was disrupted by fanatics and pressured the Police to arrest the pastor for conversions. This incident happened in the Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh.

4. Church building (of Bethesda Prayer House) being demolished in part or full by local authorities in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.

Prayer:Pray for God’s justice in this case. Pray for favour. Pray above all, for the Christian anger to turn into the righteousness, peace and joy of Jesus' kingdom! Pray for spiritual awakening of those persecuting.

Meditation: Ephesians 6:19-20“Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.”

Brief: Tawang District Administration has ordered the leaders of Christian Revival Church (CRC) Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, to stop their church construction on the ground of not having proper land allotment copy. However, Christian Revival Church Tawang has been occupying the impugned plot of land since the year 1999 (almost 21 years). Pray for grace to endure and wisdom to deal with the persecutors as true witnesses of the suffering Saviour. The state and local authorities of Arunachal Pradesh and it's border town of Tawang, after being dead unresponsive for 15 years of a local church's appeal to allot a piece of land which they have been using for its activities for 21 years, has suddenly sprung into persecuting the Church as they started building work in sheer frustration of their prolonged rejection. Pastor was arrested, and the Christian Forum leaders are raising a desperate plea at the highest offices.

Vandalism & Wrongful Seize of Worship Lands



Prayer:Let us pray for strength and sustenance for Stan in the agenda that Jesus Christ has for Him. May Stan know Jesus' strength and presence, and be filled with the Lord's highest concerns for both the tribals and those who are bent on quashing his sincere activism.

Praise God for the conscientious written appeal to the PM by South Shillong's BJP MP, Mr. Sanbor Shullai, to unconditionally release Father Stan Swami, considering his age, the pandemic risk and his record of humanitarian work. We can praise God, for He can work through whomsoever He chooses.

Meditation: Matthew 24:9“Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.”

Brief: 83-year old Stan Swamy, the tribal-rights activist and Jesuit Priest from Jharkhand, was forcefully arrested, without any concern for his age and the present pandemic danger, and taken into custody by National Investigations Agency (NIA) and charged for terrorist activities without a procedural warrant. While there are multiple political agendas behind this and related excesses stemming from a public event on Dec 31st 2017, which triggered riots.As per BBC, Stan Swamy is the oldest person to be accused of terrorism in India. What a shame – a person who gave his entire life to Christ and for the welfare of the tribals is accused for his service!

Prayer:Pray that the Anti-Conversion Bill through God’s mighty intervention will not get implemented all over India and that it will be retracted from the 8 states where it is already being enforced.

Meditation: Romans 8:15“The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

Brief: There is widespread news about a National Anti-Conversion Law being brought into force in India. This severe law is already in play in 8 states - Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkand, Odisha, Chattisgarh, and Gujarat. Persecution Relief has recently released a petition to the Prime Minister to not only reconsider and refrain from implementing this draconian law. We have also requested the Prime Minister to meet and reason out with Christian delegates from India before he and his government comes to a decision.
