This form is not intended to cover Students involved in larger research projects (ie for a Masters or Honours degree). Such projects may be treated differently and advice should be sought from the Office of Health and Medical Research and/or the Legal Unit. It is important that this document be signed by the Student before commencing the placement. The Student should be given adequate time to review and understand this document. If the Student does not understand the document even after it is clearly explained to them, they should be advised to seek independent legal advice. This document licenses the use of intellectual property rights developed and owned by the individual Student to Queensland Health. It does not transfer ownership of those rights to Queensland Health. If Queensland Health requires exclusive rights to or ownership of Student-developed intellectual property rights, the Office of Health and Medical Research and/or the Legal Unit should be consulted prior to the Student commencing the placement. This template should be considered in the context of any education provider agreement made between the Student’s education provider and Queensland Health for the purpose of a clinical placement as well as any other documents signed by the student (such as the ‘Student Deed Poll – Privacy and Consent’).
