ResidentRightsCanImoveintoabiggerapartment?Ifafamilyisinaunitthatistoosmall/largefortheirsize,thefamilycanremainuntilanappropriate-sizedunitbecomesavailable.Whenanappropriate-sizedunitbecomesavailableintheproject,thefamilymustmovetoitwithinareasonableperiodoftime,asdeterminedbyNYCHA.
WhatwillhappentomyEarnedIncomeDisregard(EID)?ResidentswhoareemployedandarecurrentlyreceivingtheEIDexclusionatthetimeofconversionwillcontinuetoreceivetheEIDafterconversion.WhentheEIDexpiresforthosefamilies,therentadjustmentshallnotbesubjecttorentphase-in.

Whatwillhappentomyhomebusiness?Residentsmayengageinlegalprofit-makingactivities,includingtheoperationofahome-basedbusiness,intheirapartment,providedthatsuchactivitiesareincidentaltotheprimaryuseoftheapartmentasaresidence.
HowwillresidentswhodonotspeakEnglishorhaveadisabilitybeinformedofupdates?LanguageassistancewillbeprovidedtoresidentswhoareLimitedEnglishProficient(LEP)toensurethattheyhavemeaningfulaccesstoPACTresidentnotificationsandmeetings.NYCHAanditsdevelopmentpartnerswillprovidenotificationsaboutmeetingsintheappropriatelanguageormethodforthosewithvisual,hearing,andothercommunicationdisabilities.
