The earliest example of medical micro-pigmentation dates back to the 1850’s when Schuh a ground- breaking surgeon had the foresight to use tattooing to enhance the effects of reconstructive cheiloplasty (lip surgery). From this point forward medical history is punctuated with evidence of tattooing for reconstructive purposes. Progressive techniques and a growth in demand today place the skill in a respected position in publicly funded hospitals and within the cosmetic surgery sector, where it’s used to relax and camouflage scars due to surgery and injury; to restore the areola post breast reconstruction; to re-pigment the hypo- pigmented skin of burn victims and conditions such as Vitiligo; to mimic the look of hair growth and to improve the appearance of a cleft lip. The earliest example of medical micro-pigmentation

dates back to the 1850’s when Schuh a ground-

breaking surgeon had the foresight to use tattooing

to enhance the effects of reconstructive cheiloplasty

(lip surgery). From this point forward medical

history is punctuated with evidence of tattooing for

reconstructive purposes.

Progressive techniques and a growth in demand

today place the skill in a respected position in publicly

funded hospitals and within the cosmetic surgery

sector, where it’s used to relax and camouflage

scars due to surgery and injury; to restore the areola

post breast reconstruction; to re-pigment the hypo-

pigmented skin of burn victims and conditions such

as Vitiligo; to mimic the look of hair growth and to

improve the appearance of a cleft lip.

At Natural Enhancement we’re embracing the

growing demand for medical micro-pigmentation

by sharing our expertise and knowledge through

career-enhancing training programmes.

We offer bespoke training programmes tailored to

focus on your specific requirements - you simply tell

us your background and the procedures that you

wish to learn and we’ll provide you with a proposed

course outline.

resistant to pulling blue whilst still giving an intense

shade of black once healed.

Temperature: Cool

Use: 8 drops

Intensify with: Black Mist for a double-black effect

Needle configurations: 3 Round, 3 Slope, 5 Round, 5 Magnum, Power 7.

Cost: 9ml size £38.00 exc. vat

Our Cosmedic® Smart-Start education programme is now accredited by both

HABIA – the government approved, standards setting body, and the Guild of

Professional Beauty Therapists.

So what does that mean for you? – reassurance that you’ve been awarded a

professional industry qualification that has a higher standing with insurers and

licensing bodies both in the UK and internationally.

Power Needles• Long tapered tip – encouraging easy needle entry into the skin

• The needle tip angles inwards forming a tip similar to the cone of Concord

promoting easy entry into the skin

• Requires fewer passes for enhanced pigment placement

• Requires recurrent capture of pigment due to smaller holding area

• Designed for tight lining techniques and dense results

• Power 5 – fine eyeliners and lip contours

• Power 7 – thicker eyeliners and lip contours

We’re glad you asked!

• During eyeliner procedures

the constant wiping with baby

wipes and cotton pads can

irritate and sensitize the skin

making the constant cleaning

uncomfortable.

Reducing skin sensitivity during eyeliner procedures

• To reduce skin irritation try

using moistened cotton buds

soaked in water rather than

baby wipes and cotton pads.

• Remember – reduced skin

irritation = less inflammation

= enhanced pigment retention.

Botox® injections can temporarily alter the natural eyebrow positioning. Ideally permanent cosmetic brow

procedures should be conducted when the effects of Botox® have subsided and the site has returned to

normal – as a rule a 3 month period.

If this timing is not realistic, most clients will have

some eyebrow hair as a guideline for design

placement purposes. Use this guideline and don’t

be tempted to make adjustments to compensate

for the effects of the Botox® injections.

Generally medical professionals request a 2

week time span between having Botox® and

receiving permanent cosmetics if the natural

brow line has not been altered by the Botox®.

Botox® and Permanent Cosmetics

Have you had any alcohol within the last 24 hours?

People that have had alcohol,

especially wine, tend to bleed

more during permanent cosmetics

procedures. Bleeding is normally

nominal and a controllable

issue for eyebrow or eyeliner

procedures, but can be a problem

if your client is having a lip

procedure.

Cosmedic® Information Open Days

Round Needle• Short tapered tip – needle entry into the skin is not as easy

• Needle tip is not angled inward therefore the needle grouping creates

a blunt cone resulting in resistance when the needle enters into the skin

• Multiple passes required for pigment placement

• Requires less frequent pigment capture due to larger holding area

• Designed for shadier softer results

• Round 5 – thick eyeliners and colour mist eyebrows

• Round 7 – soft lip contours, lip shading and colour mist eyebrows

It goes without saying that unfortunately there are

people out there who are quite simply left with

permanent cosmetic enhancements and tattoos

that are unflattering and regrettable.

Our Removal, Lightening and Colour Correction

Class will give you the advantage and the expertise

to remove unattractive brow enhancements and

body tattoos using the inorganic chemical remover

Rejuvi.

You’ll gain the skills required to correct unflattering

lip enhancements by removing small areas of

pigment using the Ecuri removal system.

We’ll give you the chance to learn about our

salt and glycolic acid lightening and removal

techniques - so that you can correct permanent

cosmetic procedures that are too dark.

You’ll also achieve the expertise to determine

when unflattering permanent cosmetics should

be colour corrected rather than removed and

we’ll teach you the skills required to carry out this

specialised procedure.

Finally we’ll give you an overview of laser tattoo

removal.

This 1 day class includes a practical workshop

and supplies.

Cost: £1350 exc. vat

Taking the Next-Step

Icon EyesHow do you decide which is the best eyeliner

pigment to make the most of your clients eyes?

– Well the key is to choose a colour that looks

good with your client’s skin tone as well as her

eye colour.

Dark skin tone and dark eyes: Clients with strong

natural colourings suit intense black eyeliner

shades for example Brown-Black Mist combined

with a hint of Black Mist. For Mediterranean skin

tones Darkest Green Mist or Brown Mist combined

with Pale Green Mist work well too.

Light skin tone and dark eyes: Our Brown-Black

Mist and Brown Mist shades work well for a natural

look. Navy Mist and Darkest Green Mist both give

a flattering contrast for deep brown eyes.

Red heads with pale eyes and skin tone: Brown

Mist which can also be darkened with Brown-

Black Mist work well and if your client’s skin tends

towards the paler end of the spectrum try Grey

Mist or Brown Mist combined with Pale Green Mist

to complement her hair and skin tones.

Pale eyes and skin tone: Choose Brown-Black

Mist, Brown Mist or Grey Mist for a subtle soft

look. For a fashion make-up look try Blue Grey

Mist, Peacock Mist and Mauve Mist which can all

be darkened with Navy Mist.
