Welcome to VINE Studios Training Academy! This is our Fundamental

Training course overview for prospective Permanent Cosmetics

(PMU) & Microblading students. At VINE Academy, we believe core

fundamentals are the most important training for new students of PMU.

Our courses are taught in an engaging, challenging and progressive

training environment.

VINE uses a well-rounded learning process that involves hands-on

experience, theoretical study and creative exercise. PMU is a kinetic

profession that requires a practical touch in addition to a solid

understanding of the fundamental principles.

Our expert trainers support you as a new student, challenge you

classroom learning.

VINE also provides ongoing professional support after you complete

our program, offering exclusive access to training videos and advanced

COURSE OVERVIEW

Our PMU & Microblading Fundamental Training course is a

50-hour program divided into at-home pre-study(5 hours), two

three-day classroom modules (25 hours), and post-graduation

practical experience (20 hours). All demonstrations on live

models are performed by resident expert Dawn Hunter, VINE

founder, artist and instructor.

Pre-study

Prior to entering the classroom, students are given a bookletas assigned reading.

Post-GraduationAfter the classroom learning sessions, students must submit photos of completed practice skins for reviewbefore practicing on clients. The requirements are 20 sets of brows, 20 pairs of eyeliner, and 20 basic lips.

PRECISION DESIGN

We want you to become a master of the tools

of your new trade, but we also know that beau-

ty and makeup are as much an art as they are

a science. That’s why we teach the principles of

design, the importance of symmetry, and how to

create a look that is natural yet flawless.

Our curriculum focuses on detail-oriented

design principles, including:

• Leonardo Da Vinci’s theories on design &

symmetry

• Complete bone structure analysis

• How to identify and correct subtle facial

imbalances

• Simple steps for a 10-minute brow design

• Creating perfect lips and eyeliner

COLOR CORE

When it comes to permanent makeup, choosing

the right colors for a client’s skin tone is

absolutely necessary. We will teach you

the latest industry techniques to make sure

you get it right every time, including:

• Identifying skin undertones

• Choosing the right makeup colors &

pigments

• Specialized color training for lips

• Blue/pink color correction

• Basic two-color brows

DETAIL TRAINING

A client or nonprofessional can usually tell when

a design looks right, but it’s a makeup artist’s

job to know it looks right. Your training at VINE

will teach you how to think ahead, planning even

the smallest adjustments to make your clients’

permanent makeup enhance their natural fea-

tures in every way possible. Our fundamentals

training covers:

• How to “see” the design even before you

begin

• Training your brain to identify and fix

imbalances

• Creating facial evenness with precise brow

placement and fill

• Correcting uneven lip rims while

maintaining a natural lip line

• Eyeliner tail matching and visual symmetry

POST-GRAD LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates of VINE Academy have access to further training opportunities with Dawn Hunter.

These extra sessions are designed to help you improve your craft and continue to gain

experience alongside an industry expert.

Option 1: Booster Classes

For $199 (with an option to prepay for 6 months at a time), you can book an hour-long Skype,

phone or text session every month with Dawn to review your work, ask questions or get advice

from a personal permanent makeup guru. These sessions are ideal for sending photos for

feedback, walking through techniques over video chat or discussing entrepreneurship tactics.

Option 2: One-on-One Training Sessions

Dawn also offers individual in-person training sessions at her normal service rates. Bring

along your model, then work together or observe as Dawn walks through the live procedure

with you. This option is especially helpful for students who need extra clarification or an

up-close tutorial before striking out on their own.

videos! Use these as a refresher whenever you need them.

Dawn Hunter, Master Esthetician, Permanent Make Up Artist and Instructor is the founder of VINE

Studios. Dawn is originally from California and has studied with the best of the best in her home state

and here in Washington. Dawn is a member of the Society of Permanent Cosmetics Professionals.

She has been perfecting the art of micro-pigmentation for over eight years. Dawn brings many years of

experience both applying and teaching permanent make-up. Dawn also has experience as the owner

and operator of a medical spa, where she applied permanent cosmetics alongside a plastic surgeon.

We also have expert plastic surgeon Dr. David Santos on our team as a specialized consultant. Dr.

Santos is a board member of the Seattle FACE Foundation, founded by VINE Studios. Dr. Santos is

the former Medical Director for Lifestyle Lift and a member of the American Board of Facial Plastic and

Reconstructive Surgery. He currently practices in Bellevue, Washington. Together, Dr. Santos and

Dawn Hunter are board members of the International FACE Foundation (IFF) that just launched this

year, a non-profit organization treating veterans and other victims of facial trauma and burns. IFF is

currently expanding to cover areola re-pigmentation for breast cancer survivors.
