Dear Italy Lover,

The brochure you’re holding in your hands is filled with wonderful, time-tested escorted Italy tour itineraries with set departure dates.

And besides our classic 14-day Italy North Tour, our ever popular 10-day Vesuvius Tour, or our 10–day South & Sicily, we’ve recently introduced brand new itineraries such as the 10-day Appian Way. But I’ll be the first to admit that not everyone is keen on joining an escorted group tour. Travel is never easier, nor more efficient than with a professionally-operated tour. But for others, stepping out of their hotel into a foreign city, with just a map and a metro token, is exactly what travel is all about!

In both cases, Perillo is here to maximize your experience. We add fun and serendipity into your scheduled group tour. We add precision and predictability into your independent adventure.

Whether you are a ‘tour person’ or an ‘independent’, this brochure is a great start in your Italy vacation planning.Inside you’ll find 8 great Italy tours and our deluxe MSC Yacht Club cruise to the eastern Mediterranean.

On page 6, you can learn about our new department dedicated to groups of 15 or more people. Your school, church, business and family are all great candidates to travel to Italy, and beyond, as a group. And if you’re the group’s leader, there’s a good chance you’ll travel for free! Just call our groups department at 1-855-PT-GROUP to get started.

On page 7, you’ll also learn how to create your own trip, with our help, by visiting our website ItalyVacations.com. Don’t like using websites?

Just call ItalyVacations.com at 1-800-ITALY-25. We’ll work with you, or your travel agent on your independent vacation right on the phone.

Finally, be sure to ask for our one hour, hi-definition DVD on Italy travel. It’s a beautiful preview to the wonderful experience that’s ahead of you!

Buon viaggio!

Steve Perillo

P.S. A Perillo Italy vacation makes a great gift for the holidays or anytime of the year. Now that’s a gift to remember!

WELCOME TO ITALY!

Your guide will show you all the sights – St. Mark’s Square, the Basilica and the Bridge of Sighs. Just around the corner from St. Mark’s Square, we’ll enjoy a special lunch in a town renowned for its seafood specialties.

often surprised by a sense of deep spirituality. St. Anthony (patron Saint of lost objects) is interred here in the serene Basilica which dates back to the 1200s. Next to Florence! Home of Dante, Boccaccio, Botticelli, da Vinci, and some say, the best gelato in Italy!

Back at the hotel, our tour director is happy to offer this evening’s restaurant suggestions. Perhaps, world famous Florentine steak? BB

DAY 7 - Thursday Florence ³ City Sightseeing including ‘The David’ Florence, the fountainhead of the Renaissance, awaits our inspection.

Our day of sightseeing includes the majestic Duomo built in 1296, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Baptistery with its renowned “Gates of Paradise” doors.

We follow the medieval streets to the most striking square in Florence, Piazza della Signoria, home of Santa Croce Church, Michelangelo’s final resting place.

“Breathtaking” is the only word to describe one’s first view of Michelangelo’s David. Yes, it’s quite large and detailed. But the real magic is in how Michelangelo transformed a lifeless rock into a man - full of pride, wary of his adversary, yet quietly confident. All with just a hammer and a chisel.

You’ll be sure to find a perfect Florentine dinner spot tonight. BB

DAY 8 - Friday Florence³Pisa ³ Wine Tasting in Tuscany ³ Florence The bell tower of Pisa is among the most instantly recognizable structures on earth. Architects say it would be world famous even if it were perfectly straight. This morning we’ll see for ourselves, along with the beautiful Cathedral and Baptistery.

This afternoon we’ll visit a typical Tuscan winery to learn about the grape, the “nose,”

food pairings and most importantly – which glass to use! Of course, we’ll sample the wines. Cin-Cin! Then back to Florence for free time.

Tonight, ask your tour director for a nearby spot to enjoy fresh Tuscan fare. BB

DAY 9 - Saturday Florence ³SorrentoOur journey to Sorrento takes us through the rolling hills, scenic vineyards and post-card perfect vistas of Tuscany and Umbria. Soon, we are in Sorrento, high on a beautiful plateau, greeted by the sapphire blue Gulf of Naples and majestic Mount Vesuvius.

When most Americans think of Italian food, they’re usually thinking of the dishes of Naples and Sorrento - spaghetti with tomato and basil, mozzarella and pizza are all from this area. Here’s your chance to try the “real thing!” BB

DAY 10 - Sunday Sorrento ³Capri ³Sorrento This morning you’ll be taken to Capri, the world’s most enchanting island. You can explore to your heart’s content on your own or your tour conductor may have other ideas. You’ll be as captivated by Capri as Emperor Tiberius who used the Blue Grotto as his personal swimming pool. Tonight, still glowing from the sun, it’s time to enjoy another fine gastronomic experience. BB
