CHRIS PAYNE GILBERT (Peter) is a graduate of Siena College where he played Division I soccer, and received a BA in English with a concentration in Theatre. He subsequently spent the beginning of his career working in New York where he appeared in many Off-Broadway productions including Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde (Minetta Lane), Kilt (Directors Co), Through Fred (Playwrights Horizons), Walking Off the Roof (Signature Theatre Co), as well as Freesailing, Lem,
Experimental Actions (all Williamstown Theatre Festival). His Los Angeles credits include All My Sons (Geffen Playhouse), It’s Just Sex (Two Roads Theatre), Larry Moss’ production of Beggars in the House of Plenty, and Reid Scott’s production of The Elephant Man. Chris is a founding member of the Obie Award winning experimental theatre company Mad Dog, whose work includes productions in New York, the Williamstown Theatre Festival & MASS MOCA, and at the Belgrade International Theatre Festival. His television appearances include Suits, Backstrom, Mistresses, Criminal Minds, Dexter, Burn Notice, Bones, The Shield, Friends, CSI, and Sex and the City, as a series regular on the TBS comedy 10 Items or Less and Lifetime’s The Protector as well as the television movie Hollywood Vice. His film credits include Broken Hearts Club, Story of a Bad Boy, Brothers, and Refuge, written and directed by Tony Award winner Mark Medoff. Chris would like to dedicate this performance to his amazing family: MLRDLAE & TT.

JASON LOTT (Narrator) is thrilled to return to the Malibu Playhouse, previously appearing in his one-man holiday show Wonderful Life. An actor and writer recently transplanted from Washington, DC, Jason has worked with numerous regional theaters over the years, including productions with The Kennedy Center, Folger Theatre, Studio Theatre, Theater Alliance, The Hub Theatre, Olney Theatre Center, and Everyman Theatre. He is a two-time
Helen Hayes Award nominee, including a nomination for Wonderful Life for the 2012 Charles MacArthur Award for Outstanding Play or Musical, and a proud member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA.

LESLIE MURPHY (Kari) is so happy to be a part of this beautiful play, and to be performing for the first time on the Malibu Playhouse stage! She hails from Palm Springs, and received her theatre degree from UC Berkeley. She has appeared several television shows including “Criminal Minds,” “House,” and “Franklin and Bash”. Her film work includes Acting Like Adults, Seeking A Friend For The End

COREY JOHNSON (Narrator Understudy) is thrilled to be working on such a beautiful play. Theater credits include Claudius in Four Clowns presents Hamlet (Four Clowns); Tony in West Side Story (Toulouse Opera, France); Neville in Mystery of Edwin Drood (River Rep). He was a writer for the 2016 CBS Sketch Comedy Showcase and an actor in the 2014 NBC Scene Showcase. Corey

RACHAEL MARKARIAN (Kari Understudy) attended Oklahoma City University as a Dance & Theatre Performance Major. Since moving to Los Angeles she’s been fortunate enough to dance and tour the world with artists such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyonce, Pink, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Cher and many more. After many years as a professional dancer she began to immerse
herself back into her acting career. Over the past several years Rachael has had the opportunity to work with directors like Steven Soderbergh in HBO’s Behind the Candelabra, Ivan Reitman in No String Attached, Brett Ratner in Rush Hour 3, and most recently with Christopher Guest in his new film for Netflix, Mascots. Some of her TV credits include recurring roles on Glee and True Blood, as well as Dr. Ken, How I Met Your Mother, Bones, Vegas, CSI, Criminal Minds, The Hustle, Nip/Tuck, The Haunted Mansion, Southland Tales, and Dance Night Obsession. She thrilled and honored to be joining the talented cast of The Pavilion.

SCOTT SPEISER (Peter Understudy) is from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in theater. He has performed as a Blue Man in “Blue Man Group” all over the world and on numerous TV shows such as “Ellen”, “Access Hollywood”, and “The Latin Grammys”. As a “non-Blue Man”, Scott has Guest Starred on “NCIS, and has appeared in episodes of “Criminal
Minds”, “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD”, and “Mike & Molly”. He can be seen in the feature films May the Best Man Win, Southbounders, and The Mangler Reborn. His extensive improv and sketch comedy experience led him to perform with The Groundlings Sunday Company. He is allergic to penicillin and cats.

CRAIG WRIGHT (Playwright) creates for theater, film, and television. His plays include Grace, The Pavilion, Melissa Arctic, Orange Flower Water, Recent Tragic Events and The Unseen. He has received several awards for his writing, including the Helen Hayes/Charles MacArthur Award for Best New Play (for Melissa Arctic) and has been the recipient of fellowships from the McKnight Foundation, the Jerome Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts. For his work as a writer on Six Feet Under, he received an Emmy nomination, and a Writer’s Guild of America award for his work on Lost. He created Dirty Sexy Money for ABC, Underemployed for MTV, worked with Howard Gordon to develop Tyrant for FX, and also wrote and produced episodes of Brothers and Sisters and United States of Tara. He is the creator and executive producer of Greenleaf, scheduled to premiere on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN in June of 2016. Mr. Wright wrote Mr. Peabody and Sherman for Dreamworks Animation. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Sarah and daughter Evelyn and his grown son, Louis, is currently completing his studies in architecture at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
SHARA ABVABI (Production Manager) is a Los Angeles based lighting designer and stage manager. Her most recent design work includes Plan-B Entertainment’s Al-ways...Patsy Cline, the Saban Theatre with performances by Englebert Humperdinck, The Zombies, and Don Rickles, and Stand Up! (w/ Jimmy Dore and Mike Scully) at the Malibu Playhouse. As the resident lighting designer and production manager for the Malibu Playhouse, her work includes God of Carnage directed by Graham Clifford (w/ A Martinez), Oxymorons (w/ Ed Asner and Mark Rydell), A Man and His Prostate directed by Ed Weinberger (w/ Ed Asner), and Dick Van Dyke and the Vantastics star-ring Dick Van Dyke. Other selected works: stage management for Plan-B Entertain-ment’s RENT at the Saban Theatre and the Always...Patsy Cline national tour, lighting designs for The Pulse PAC, named the Best Dance Studio in Kansas City by KM-BC-TV’s A-List Award, Prometheus choreographed by Ronnald Tice at the Kaufman Center for the Performing Arts, and the world premier of Dante’s Inferno: The Ballet at the Maydenbauer Center in Seattle, Washington.
REBECCA BONEBRAKE (Lighting Designer) is a Los Angeles based designer for theatre, dance, events, and architectural projects. This is her first design for the Malibu Playhouse and she is thrilled to be working with this excellent team. Rebecca is a member of Chalk Repertory and hes designed several of their productions including Diet of Worms, Lady Windermere’s Fan and Three Sisters. Her work has been seen at the San Diego Ballet, East West Players, the Blank Theatre, USC and UCSD. She has also designed the lighting for two of the past mazes at Halloween Horror Nights for Uni-versal Studios Hollywood. TONY CARNAGHI (Stage Manager) marks his fifth production as Stage Man-ager with The Pavilion. His recent productions as SM include Educating Rita at Theater 40, Mud Blue Sky and Things Being What They Are both at the Road Theater Company, The Manor at Theater 40/Beverly Hills Recreation & Parks collaboration. Tony is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association.
CONNOR HAYES (Assistant Scenic Designer) Connor has been involved in theater since high school. After graduating in 2010, work in set construction consist-ed of annual haunted walkthroughs in Malibu West, the production of Into the Woods at Malibu High School and Once Upon a Time Children’s Theater’s production of The Wiz. Connor is currently working for Center Theater Group as a carpenter and running a home wood shop that produces custom products and furniture for various businesses, family, and friends.
JACOB MUEHLHAUSEN (Scenic Designer) currently manages props for Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson: ONE at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Previously he managed carpentry and props for Cirque du Soleil’s “O” for over 5 years. Before Ve-gas he designed numerous productions, including: Kennedy Center’s Brave No World; Theater Alliance’s Gross Indecency: the Trials of Oscar Wilde; and the Keegan Theatre’s Irish tour of Glengarry Glen Ross. Assisted design on: Roundhouse Theatre’s A Murder, a Mystery, a Marriage; Kennedy Center’s Journal of Ben Uchida; Williamstown Theatre Festival’s The Opposite of Sex; and Ford’s Theatre’s Jitney. Jacob was the recipient of the Kennedy Center’s Kennan Institute for the Arts Fellowship in set design for 2005. He is a design graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts. He has a parrot named Oliver and a boyfriend named Derek, both of whom deserve a large amount of thanks.
HALEI PARKER (Costume Designer) is a professional freelance costume design-er for theatre, dance, opera, film, television, and commercials. She is also the resident costume designer for the site-specific theatre company Chalk Repertory Theatre. She is, additionally, a company member at Rogue Machine Theatre. Some of her recent Los Angeles designs include Uncle Vanya, Gallery Secrets, Lady Windermere’s Fan, and Fool for Love with Chalk Repertory Theatre, Animals Out of Paper at East West Players, Gruesome Playground Injuries at Rogue Machine Theatre and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Last year Halei also had various works that were seen by international audiences in Mexico City and Prague. Halei is a faculty member at Cal Poly Pomona and holds an MFA in Costume Design from UC San Diego. Check out more of her work at www.HaleiParker.com.
COLIN WAMBSGANS (Sound Designer and Composer) last worked with Malibu Playhouse in December’s production of Wonderful Life. His work has also been heard at LaMama (New York, Maria Kizito and Drunk, Still Drinking), Center Reperto-ry (Walnut Creek, CA, Status Update), Chalk Rep (LA, Mommune, Diet of Worms), and Rogue Machine (LA, Gruesome Playground Injuries, A Permanent Image, Dirt) as well as Occidental College and USC. As a composer, he has been a resident at the Millay Arts Colony and his compositions have been presented at the Darmstadt Ferienkurse, Getty Center, Hammer Museum, Boston Court, and the wulf. He received an MFA from CalArts in 2011 and lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Dorothy Fortenberry, and their two daughters.
JEREMY SKIDMORE (Director/Producer) previously directed Mary’s Wedding for the Malibu Playhouse where he is currently serving as Guest Artistic Director. In Washington, DC he co-founded and served as President of the Capital Talent Agency, as Artistic Producer of the Source Festival, and as Artistic Director of Theater Alli-ance. Jeremy has directed or taught all over North Carolina and in Pennsylvania, Del-aware, Nebraska, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, London, Oslo, Galway, Kilimanjaro, Tokyo, Macau, and Tai Pei. He has as a BFA in directing from the Universi-ty of North Carolina School of the Arts and an MBA from American University.
