P R O G R A M M E
Welcome everyone to the Chelis School of Dance 2007
Charity Dance Show - FUSION. Its been a
busy two years since our last show with the school performing at the Royal
Albert Hall in May and the recent move from Silvermere Centre
to Mapledene Primary School.
Our last show in 2005, Creative Innovation, supported
a local boy called Jordan. At only 9 years old,
Jordan had already suffered so much with the
muscle wasting disease Duchenne Muscular
Dystrophy. This illness is slowly limiting
Jordan’s enjoyment of life and our
contribution of £1,758 helped purchase
a new wheelchair. Earlier this year,
everyone was thrilled to see
Jordan at our Silvermere Fun
Day, where he took great
pleasure in demonstrating
his new wheelchair, complete
with graphics and lights .
This year we are raising funds for the Toon family. Lewis Toon is a little
boy suffering with Microphaly, which is caused by the premature fusing
of the bones in the head (Craniosynostosis). Microphaly caused by
Craniosynostosis does not allow adequate room for the brain to grow
normally and must be repaired with surgery to prevent brain damage.

shows. Our combined contributions
and generosity help make a real
difference to the lives of children
like Jordan and Lewis.

The school also has an excellent record of 100% pass rate in all IDTA
examinations, which are internationally recognized. At local competitions and
festivals pupils regularly achieve medal positions and the school is often noted
for its high standards and choreography.
Saturday Classes Start at 9am and cover
Tap , Ballet, Theatre Craft, Modern Jazz,
Gymnastics and Freestyle.
Private tuition for solo, duet, trio
and troupe dances is offered at the
Principals discretion and takes place
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
evenings - 4pm till 8pm
The principals, Miss Lisa and Miss Cheryl, have over 25 years of experience,
covering most dance disciplines. During their careers they
have accumulated over 2,000 medals and trophies
between them, have performed in many amateur
productions throughout the UK and Miss Lisa
has danced professionally in this country,
abroad and on cruise ships.
Having performed at The Royal Albert Hall
and Her Majesty’s Theatre, Haymarket,
Chelis School of Dance are no stranger
to the big stage and next year will see
the school perform at Euro Disney, Paris.
Talented pupils wishing to pursue a
professional career in dance, find the
school an excellent vehicle to do so,
as some pupils have discovered,
now dancing professionally both
here and abroad.

Integration - regular exploration and connecting of our physical, mental and intellectual layers leads to a state of integrated harmony.
