Características generales del producto

What it consists of

The cold forming technology was developed as an alternative to obtaining different geometrical shapes in steel by means of hot rolling, and offers the following advantages:

• Complex geometrical sections can be produced• Reduction in thicknesses• Good surface fi nish• Different surface coatings• Even thickness over the whole section• Stable, rigid and lightweight sections• Maximum straightness in section• Manageability• Precise lengths• Tight tolerances

Before forming, these open sections can be subjected to perforation and stamping operations, and afterwards, to bending, etc. Their applications and therefore unlimited and all sectors can benefi t from them.

With regard to the state of the steel used in the sections, we can supply you with black steel, pickled, cold formed, Sendzimir galvanised, hot dip galvanised, stainless steel and pre-lacquered.

General product characteristics

Types of open sections

STANDARD SECTIONS

• Standard sections

These are profi les that, due to their continuous consumption, are available for immediate delivery. These ranges belong to the following types of sections: Angles, U sections, open tubes, omega sections, greenhouses omega sections and Z sections.

• Standard section with special geometry

These are sections for general use and their geometry is different from basic shapes such as angles and U sections. There is also a range for immediate delivery which includes strip sections, tilt-up door, lattice work, ram guide, etc.

• Shaped sheet

Shaped sheets are an excellent cladding element for roofs and facades and are obtained from low thickness, cold-formed steel sheets, in several different shapes, usually with trapezoidal and undulating forms.

These are also often used for multiple applications such as doors, fl oors, ceilings, etc., and even specifi c applications such as railway carriages, etc. The models and geometries of sheets can be personalised after performing a preliminary study.

The most common materials are cold and galvanised rolled sections, although other materials such as pre-lacquered, stainless, copper, atmospheric corrosion resistant steels, etc. can also be used.

SPECIAL SECTIONS

• Special commercial sections

These sections are developed by our technical department. The tooling, design and production process used to manufacture the product are exclusively our own, but can be supplied to any client.

• Special sections made to size

These sections, on the other hand, are products developed by Grupo Condesa together with the client. With the support of our technical offi ce, the client can create new products in accordance with his needs. The client will be the sole owner of such a product.

Inspection documents based on non-specifi c inspections according to the EN 10204 standard:

• Conformity declaration with “type 2.1” order: Document in which the manufacturer declares that the products supplied comply with the requirements of the order and that test results are not included.

• Test report “type 2.2”: Document in which the manufacturer declares that the products supplied comply with the requirements of the order and that test results based on non-specifi c inspections are included.

Inspection documents based on specifi c inspections according to the EN 10204 standard:

• Inspection certifi cate 3.1 “type 3.1”: Document issued by the manufacturer in which he declares that the products supplied comply with the requirements of the order and that test results are included.

The test unit and the tests to be conducted are defi ned in the product specifi cations, in offi cial regulations and in the corresponding regulations or order.

The document is validated by the representative authorised by the manufacturer, independent of the manufacturing department, for inspection.

The manufacturer shall be allowed to transfer relevant results of tests obtained by specifi c inspection on products used by him as raw materials to inspection certifi cate 3.1, provided that these guarantee the traceability of the process and that he can provide the corresponding inspection documents required.

The normal supply length for these sections is 6000 mm. However, on request, it is possible to supply sections cut to a fi xed length with varying types of fi nish according to different types of cut (see section “Cutting to size”).

The materials are supplied from the factory directly from the production line, although it is possible upon request to apply a number of different surface treatments, shot blasting, painting, hot dip galvanising, chrome plating, etc.

It is also possible to supply the sections with several types of machining operations, perforations and even stamped perforations.

The possible cuts to size are as follows:

• Fusion: This is the most usual type of cut, by means of a fast cross-cutting disc. This cuts by means of fusion and is capable of cutting very high thicknesses. Unless otherwise indicated or requested, this type of cut is used.

• Milling tool: Also called “slow” cutting. This involves cutting with a disc, with the peculiarity that it is a slower and fi ner chip forming process, producing unbeatable results.

• Die-cut: This cut is cleaner, without burrs, and is made by means of a shear effect produced by the knives of a press-operated die. It requires a specifi c die for the shape to the cut.

Standard package format

Package with metal corners.

Bundle package

This is the most common packaging in square or rectangular package format.

If required, wooden boards can be placed under the straps to protect the sections.

If required, the edges of the standard package can be protected with metal angle pieces that provide rigidity and protection.

These are irregularly shaped packages secured with metal straps.

What it consists of

Special sections are considered to be all cold-shaped sections whose geometry or particular characteristics require tailor-made design and manufacturing processes, unlike general-purpose commercial sections, that are normally available in stock.

In order to manufacture these special sections, at Grupo Condesa we use the most modern processes and technologies that allow us to provide personalised solutions oriented towards the needs of our customers.

Normally, a carefully designed geometry that includes a wide range of machining processes can eliminate subsequent operations that would be necessary on a commercial tube or section to allow additional applications, improve existing designs or undertake new projects and applications, replacing other materials with steel sections.

This involves sections with more or less complex geometrical shapes that may include several kinds of online machining processes and can be supplied cut to size. The qualities and materials used include carbon steels both in black, semi bright, cold or galvanised, stainless steels, atmospheric corrosion resistance steels and even other materials such as aluminium, titanium, etc.

This kind of profi le is widely found in sectors such as building (scaffolding, light structures, etc.), railways, shelving, manufacture of machinery, etc.

Two types of product can be distinguished:

SPECIAL COMMERCIAL SECTIONS

These are sections designed by our technical department and are oriented towards a wide range of different sectors. They can be supplied to any customer as they have been designed and developed internally and the appropriate tools are available for their manufacture.

SPECIAL SECTIONS CUT TO SIZE

These are sections designed for the needs of individual customers to respond to a particular requirement. Any geometry proposed by the customer can be studied and developed with different kinds of machining and fi nishes. Our technical offi ce will develop the production process and will design the special tools required for their manufacture. Naturally, our team of specialists can also provide the support required to optimise the design of a product and adapt this as far as possible to the requirements. These tailor-made products are supplied exclusively to the customer in question.
