With the Horizontal Mixer HM Reimelt Henscheloffer a superior concept for highest capacities.In many application fields of bulk material processing the overall capacity of an entireproduction line can only be completely utilisedwith the integration of a Horizontal CoolerMixer HM. The selected detail solutions andtheir consequential implementation in themixing technology again demonstrate ourpractical experience of more than 50 years.

Downstream a heater mixer FM or MB, the HM solely provides an optimum utilisation ofthe cooling water. Thanks to the specific designof the mixing tools and cooling circuit, highestefficiency is guaranteed. The HM is as well able to convince entirely when utilised as Universal Mixer for large batch sizes.In construction sizes from 2,000 litres,very short cycle times can be achieved with highest mixing quality, even for complex tasks and problematic characteristicsof the applicable raw material.

Designed as whirling mixerwith a Froude number* of Fr = 4 - 5, therequested relative movement between theproduct particles will be created, gently tothe material and with lowest energy input.In case a dispersion or granulation process isrequested besides, choppers can be installed

Typical processes and applications

Process technology

Good utilisation of the cooling medium isdecisive for effective operation. Since thephysical characteristics of the applicable raw materials cannot be modified, themechanical features have to be optimallydesigned. Therefore, the machines made byReimelt Henschel possess a mixing toolwhich brings the complete batch into a circulating and cross mixing movement. Each individual mixing blade is designed for lowfriction input, however, same time providinga certain pressure of the product particles tothe cooled wall in order to achieve very highheat transition values (so-called K-value).

Of course, the complete drum areas includingthe large cleaning opening are water-cooledand entirely provided with mixing tools. Thewater guidance in the jacket, concerningcross-section and execution, is consequentlydesigned for turbulent water flow in order to
