  • PHASE 6: Steps to Create a Demo Database

    Running Scripts:

    Scripts are run to create functional Oracle Database and Tablespaces. Scripts are

    found in the folder HR91DMO where PeopleTools and Application are installed.

    The navigation to scripts is:

    PSOFT9.1HR91 HR91DMOscripts nt

    In folder nt there will be some SQL file and we need to run SIX SQL files and these

    SHOULD be executed in the order given of:

    1. utilspace

    2. hcddl

    3. dbowner

    4. psroles

    5. psadmin

    6. connect

    Procedure to run the Scripts:

    Open command prompt and type in:

    SET ORACLE_HOME=G:\ORACLE11G\PRODUCT\11.2.0\DBHOME_1

    And click enter.

    The Oracle_home should be set to dbhome present in folder where the Database

    has been installed, here in folder Oracle11g product 11.2.0 dbhome_1

    Then connect to the database from command prompt through sqlplus with

    credentials:

    Username: SYS@HR91DMO AS SYSDBA

    Password: SYSDMO

    Before running the scripts, we have to modify the scripts.

    Running utilspace.sql:

  • Open the utilspace.sql with notepad and under the code line

    CREATE TEMPORARY TABLESPACE PSTEMP

    Change the path to 'G:\Oracle11g\oradata\HR91DMO\pstemp01.dbf'

    Under the code line:

    CREATE TABLESPACE PSDEFAULT

    Change the path to 'G:\Oracle11g\oradata\HR91DMO\psdefault.dbf'

    The path is where the Database has been installed.

    Then in RUN prompt, when connected to Database, type

    SQL> @G:\PSOFT9.1\HR91\HR91DMO\scripts\nt\utilspace.sql

    Press Enter.

    The script runs, creating data dictionaries and locks Tablespaces.

    Running hcddl.sql:

    Open hcddl.sql with notepad to modify the path in every line to

    'G:\Oracle11g\oradata\HR91DMO\aaapp.dbf'

    Just replace the old example path to the new database path.

    Unremark all the code lines where there is CREATE TABLESPACE.

    Tablespaces are created by running the hcddl.sql script the same way as

    utilspace.sql

    Running dbowner.sql:

    Open dbowner.sql with notepad and modify the line to

    CONNECT system/SYSDMO@HR91DMO;

    which is under the code line: GRANT SELECT ON PSDBOWNER TO PUBLIC;

    Run the .sql file from RUN prompt same as utilspace.sql is executed.

    Running psroles.sql:

    Open psroles.sql with notepad and modify the code line to

  • conn SYS/SYSDMO@HR91DMO as sysdba;

    which is below the code line

    EXEC DBMS_RESOURCE_MANAGER_PRIVS.GRANT_SYSTEM_PRIVILEGE -

    (GRANTEE_NAME => 'PSADMIN', PRIVILEGE_NAME

    =>'ADMINISTER_RESOURCE_MANAGER', -ADMIN_OPTION => TRUE);

    Run psroles.sql file the same way as all the scripts are executed through SQL

    in CMD prompt.

    Running psadmin.sql:

    Open the file with notepad and edit the code line to:

    connect system/SYSDMO@HR91DMO

    Execute the script same way as previous scripts in SQL through command

    prompt. This script asks to enter PeopleSoft owner, PeopleSoft owner ID

    password and default tablespace. Give the values as shown below:

    'Enter name of PeopleSoft Owner ID(max. 8 characters): ' SYSADM

    'Enter PeopleSoft Owner ID password(max. 8 characters): ' SYSDMO

    'Enter desired default tablespace:' PSDEFAULT

    This script creates PeopleSoft owner of database.

    Running connect.sql:

    No editing is required in this file, just execute the file the same way as previous

    scripts are executed.

    This script creates connectID (people).

  • Importing the Demo Database using DataMover:

    1. Login to the Datamover in BootStrap mode.

  • Navigate to File Database setup

    And follow the steps as shown in Screenshots.

  • Generated Datamover Script:

  • PHASE 7:Configuring Application Server, Web Server and Process Server

    Configuring Application Server:

    Login to cmd and SET the Environment variable PS_CFG_HOME

  • Create Application Server Domain by selecting 1.

  • Select 2 to create a new Domain.

    Create a small Domain. Enter the details according to your environment shown

    communicates with the AppServer using JSL port.

  • Create a Report Repository for the reports to get posted.

  • Navigate to the folder where the Web Server is installed. Go to BIN, run a command

    InstallPIA.cmd

    This will install PIA as a windows service.

    To start and stop the service go to RUN, write services.msc, you will find the service

    with the same name as the Domain.

    The URL will be: http://:PORTNO//signon.html

  • Configuring Report Nodes:

    Login to PIA , Navigate to MainMenuPeopleToolsProcessSchedulerReport

    Nodes

  • In the above Screenshots, the URL is the URL of the PIA.
