What drives you in doing research at SISTA?
SISTA is interdisciplinary and simplifies a high
quality collaboration between different fields, for
example between our Bioinformatics group and the
SCD group.

Quote by Alejandro Sifrim,Ph.D. student
Why did you choose to pursue a Ph.D. at SISTA?
"I started doing a Ph.D. at SISTA because as a biologist I wanted to be on the interdisciplinary crossroads. The BIOI group combines computer science, statistics, biology, biochemistry, medicine and whatever is needed to get the job done. Combine this with state-of-the-art hard and soft technology and you have a killer combo!"
"The pay-off is threefold : 1) We're contributing in the elucidation of biological principles, 2) By closely working with clinicians we're helping patients and improving medicine,3) The diversity in topics and people makes every day a challenging and fun experience which never becomes routine.“

What drives you in doing research at DocArch?
Accessibility of information has been animportant topic in my life and in my research. With the significant advances in technology, we should be able to better accommodate all members of society, but sadly that is far fromreality. Being able to conduct research towardsimproving that is very rewarding.
