LAST WEEKEND - Soles4Souls Shoe Drive

Starting April 27th through May 19th, St. Lucy is having a shoe drive in conjunction with Soles4Souls to help those in need throughout America and around the world. Please bring your new or gently used pairs of shoes and place them in the donation boxes lo-cated at the entrances of the church. Securing each pair of shoes with either a rubber band or with the shoelaces tied together is very much appreciated. Your donations will bring comfort to recipients worldwide.

Outreach Corner

Outreach Office New Hours - The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has extended its service to the St Lucy Parish community. In addition to being open Monday thru Friday from 10:00 am to 11:45 am the Outreach Office is now open two Saturdays per month from 10:00 am to 11:45 am. The scheduled opening dates for the next few months are: 5/25, 6/8, 6/22, 7/13, 7/27, 8/10 & 8/24/13.

Donate a Car - If you wish to donate an auto to help the needy in our Parish please call: 800-322-8284. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul National Vehicle Donation Program offers a FREE PICKUP SERVICE. Most cars, boats and RV's, running or not are accepted. DMV and IRS paper-work is done by the Vehicle Donation program. Funds from the program are used by the St Lucy Conference to help the needy with rent and utilities.

Counseling Available at St. Lucy’s

Because Fr. Kevin is the only priest available during the week until the end of June, he has asked a retired priest, Fr. Joe Gordon to be available on Tuesdays. A retired counselor is also available for counseling on Saturday mornings. If you would like to make an appointment with either, you may call the Parish Office.

Scripture Study The Scripture Study group will be examining the Infancy Narratives of Jesus in a four week course starting at 7 pm on June 3 in the PAC. All are invited to attend and no pre-vious bible study experience is necessary. The suggested donation is $15. You can contact Jim Miller at 408-377-5070 for more information.

Dear Parishioners, While serving as Grand Knight for Bishop O’Dowd Council #3474, Lou Fer-rigno led his fellow knights in raising over $27,000 for the Knights of Columbus Ultrasound Initiative to provide an ultrasound machine to a pregnancy care center. Matching funds from the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council’s Culture of Life program led to the purchase of an ultra-sound machine. The Knights organized a baby bottle drive raising the funds from spare change and donations from the parishes of St. Christopher, St. Frances Cabrini, and St. Thomas of Canterbury in San Jose, St. Mary of the Im-maculate Conception in Los Gatos, and St. Lucy in Camp-bell. The Knights want to thank all parishioners who supported the program. May God bless you for your efforts.

Dear Sisters and Brothers of St. Lucy: In the May 5th bulletin it was reported that the “Third quarter income was nearly 20% above what was anticipated, while expenses were about 10 percent above projected in the same pe-riod.” The “20% increase” was an error caused by inadver-tently assigning the Easter Collection to the regular weekly collection, thereby significantly skewing the collection num-bers! While the weekly collections have been strong and continue to meet budget projections, we are not 20% above projects. J We are, however, almost exactly on tar-get: $862,874 actual vs. $863,004 budgeted. The Finance Council and Stewardship Committee would like to thank the entire parish for their financial support of the parish.

For the budget period ending April 30: Year to date in-come is at $1,030,482 vs. projection of $1,101,149, putting us at $70,666 or 6% short of budget. Most of the shortfall on income is due to lower than expected income from par-ish programs (Sacramental programs, Youth, etc.). On the expense side, we are at $1,077,408 against a budget of $1,064,826. This puts $12,582 or about 1% over budget on expenses. Overall, the parish is doing very well, especially considering we had higher than usual capital projects this year for campus improvements.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas de Santa Lucia: En el boletín del 5 de mayo se informó de que los "ingresos del tercer trimestre fueron de casi un 20% por encima de lo previsto, mientras que los gastos fueron un 10 por ciento más que proyectado en el mismo período."
