4G provides an opportunity for Deloitte Consulting Technology practitioners to lead and participate in week-long, international, service-related consulting engagements in developing countries, with the intention of educating and empowering local entrepreneurs.
What is Going Global for the Greater Good (4G)?
April 2013 Trip participants , advisors, GB team, and clients
Eastern Panama is home to a number of low-income communities that lack sufficient public infrastructure, healthcare, and educational systems
The 4G team enabled client organizations in Eastern Panama to more successfully conduct business by making strategic recommendations to improve business operations
The team also experienced Panamanian culture by spending time with the indigenous Emberá Puru tribe, eating local cuisine, and exploring the port town of Yaviza
Program Overview

Aprodiso Artisan Collective:
Created an in-depth SWOT analysis Developed a plan to access new markets, including an online
sales strategy and brand to create identity for the artwork
24 BTA/Cs and 5 advisors traveled to Panama’s Eastern Communities, where they worked in four teams, each tackling an identified business development problem for a local small business
The 4G Trip in April took 29 participants to Panama

Cootrada Transportation Cooperative:
Conducted an exhaustive cost benefit analysis Recommended constructing a cooperative-owned fuel
distribution center and repair shop
Fundación Tierra Nueva Student Cooperative:
Developed an action plan for the student-run print shop to fundraise and gain leadership guidance from a currently inactive parent/teacher advisory board
Lajas Blancas Community Market:
Created an inventory tracking system, implemented basic accounting and record keeping processes
