    Jefferson Awards/ Students in ActionCommittee

    The Jefferson Awards/ Students in Action Committee has formally completed th

    first official obligation for the 2012 school year The UD Jefferson AwardsLeadership Conference. It was held November 17th, 2012 at the University ofDelaware and the following students attended Leslie Ope, Kenny Ope, AlexisAnkrah, Alexis Backus, Morgan Brokenborough, and Rose Fanfan. The twofacilitators who attended with the students were Jaiara Boskett and Mr. Rushdan

    Camp Tockwogh was a success approximately 20 students participated in aweekend long series of physical and mental activities geared towards teambuildiand leadership development on the campgrounds of Camp Tockwogh from sunto sun-down. Guys from The Gentlemans Club and girls from the Pearls ofWisdom student groups both attended the retreat. Students enjoyed the outdoorthrough archery, ropes courses, fitness events and obstacle courses. Job well don

    Staff Rest & Relaxation Day- Nov.19th 2012

    The CIS office at William Penn offered an early holiday surprise to the teachers administration in the building by inviting in the Harris School of Business Massage Therapy professional students to offer massages to the staff prior to theThanksgiving break. Teachers could opt for a massage ranging anywhere from 150 minutes! We are thankful to the students at the Harris Schools of Business Massage Therapy program for offering their services to our staff.     Student Spotlight

    Auston Buchanan

    Auston is a go-getter and beacon of change. Auston started out his academic carwith a GPA lower than a 1.0 and has worked diligently to bring his GPA now toabove a 3.0! He accredits his success to the relentless efforts of CIS and now takprivilege in being involved in other extra-curricular activities such as Cross-Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track. Auston is also a mentee in our mentoringprogram. Congratulations Auston; Keep it up, were watching you with a smile.

    Community Partner Spotlight

    Logan Jenkins

    Logan is a bonafide leader and is an enthusiast when it comes to students makingpositive decisions. He has been generous of his time with Communities in Schogoing on three years and helps us to inspire and motivate students everyday. Heblessing to the students at William Penn and he is changing lives for the betterthroughout Delaware. Keep it up Logan, you are always welcome here!

    for their ah-ha moment. Students could benefit from your help with

    completing homework and/or class assignments, gaining confidence in

    reading or math, and basic tutoring. Students can work with you one-on-

    or in small groups.

    Career Speakers- Come tell us your professional and personal journey.

    Many times success seems like a distant dream instead of an attainable

    reality. Sharing your journey helps put things into perspective for ourstudents.
