Award to St. Oswald’s Community Garden, Pembroke presented by Sue Leonard, PAVS’ Chief Officer and Vice Chair of the Pembrokeshire Public Services Board.

Balcony Room Presentations (first floor)

Session 1) 11.30am – 12.00pm: Charity Bank with Chris Tweedie As an ethical savings and loans bank, Charity Bank uses its savers' money to make loans to charities and social enterprises. It is entirely owned by charitable foundations, trusts and social purpose organisations – with no private shareholders. Providing support charities and social enterprises with loans that they couldn’t find elsewhere. This session will cover:

The Past, the Present and the Future A look at an organisation’s need for strategy and sustainability in light of changing funding options, increasing compliance requirements and wider economic considerations.

Caroline Marmara, Liz Cook, Jean Morris, Caroline White, Louise Wilkinson and the PAVS team will be

Session 2) 12.15 pm – 12.45pm: National Lottery Community Fund with Nia Jones The National Lottery Community Fund is the UK’s largest community funder and distributes 40% of all funds raised for good causes through National Lottery ticket sales. They fund not for profit and voluntary organisation to deliver projects that enable people and communities to thrive. This session will cover: A short overview of each of the current open programmes and will emphasise the importance of the Fund’s focus on strength - based and people- led approach to applications, and the importance of providing robust evidence of need for a project.

Session 3) 1.00pm – 1.30pm: Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) WCVA staff will provide an overview of grants and services available to help your organisation become more robust and financially sustainable. Korina Tsioni will highlight the importance of measuring quality within your organisation and discuss the benefits of implementing the Trusted Charity and the Investing in Volunteers quality marks.

Session 4) 1.45pm – 2.15pm: Cronfa Asedion Cymunedol / Community Asset Fund with Jason Retter This project funded by Arwain Sir Benfro (local EU LEADER action group – LAG) helps to generate additional funding for local communities. We are a regional lottery scheme who work closely with local people and organisations so that different community projects can develop and succeed.

Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services (PAVS) Voluntary and community groups vary enormously in their size and scope and have widely varying support needs at different stages in their development. PAVS recognises this diversity and aims to provide appropriate support at every stage, from the initial steps of setting up a group through to support with the development of projects, policies and establishing good practice. We offer training in a variety of fields and a funding advice service. PAVS administered Funding schemes :

Bluestone Foundation - The Bluestone Team The Bluestone Foundation is the charitable arm of Bluestone National Park Resort established to help people to help themselves through environmental, economic and social projects in Pembrokeshire. The Bluestone Foundation Community Fund We are proud to work in partnership with PAVS who help applicants through the process before passing them on for the consideration of the Bluestone Foundation Committee which is made up of Bluestone employees .The Foundation is supported by the generous donations from our guests and through fundraising organised by the resort’s 700 staff .

Localgiving - Lauren Swain Localgiving has helped over 350 charitable organisations in Wales with a year of support to help them raise donations online.
