DAY 1Stop at Corinth Canal

Your first stop will be the famous Corinth Canal which is about 6km long, only 21.3 meters wide at its base and connects theAegean Sea with the Ionian Sea. It cuts through the narrowIsthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnesian peninsulafrom the Greek mainland, thus effectively making the former anisland. Although, it has been completed in the late 19th century,it was an idea and dream of Emperor Nero (67 CE) whohad employed 6,000 slaves to this task.

DAY 1 Visit Epidaurus on the way to Amanzoe

In the peaceful hinterland of Epidaurus, with its mildclimate and abundant mineral springs, is the sanctuary ofthe god-physician Asklepios, the most famous healingcenter of the Greek and Roman world. It is considered thebirthplace of medicine and is thought to have had morethan two hundred dependent spas in the easternMediterranean. Its monuments, true masterpieces ofancient Greek art, are a precious testimony to the practiceof medicine in antiquity. Visit the huge theater of Epidauros,where the famous Epidauros Festival takes place everysummer with dramatic performances.

After your guided tour at Epidaurus we suggest a stop anearby traditional tavern for your lunch before resumingyour way towards the Amanzoe in Porto Heli area.

DAY 1 Arrival at Porto Heli / Amanzoe

The scenic town of Porto Heli is situated on the eastcoast of the Peloponnese and across from thecosmopolitan island of Spetses. Surrounded by aglittering blue sea, this area is the birthplace oflegends and civilization, blessed by a history thatembraces the Spartans and Romans, the Byzantinesand Venetians, all drawn here over the millenniabecause of the region’s beauty, wealth and strategiclocation. Olives, pine trees and colorful flowers arecovering the successive hills and across thecoastline with endless turquoise private bays!

DAY 2 Cruise to the Argosaronic Gulf (1)

After breakfast at Amanzoe, take your private yachtand start for the cruise in the Saronic Gulf. First stopcould be Hinitsa Bay for swimming and then sail toSpetses, enjoying a fishing experience! Spetses Islandretains much of the grandeur and old-world eleganceof its heyday as an important shipbuilding andmaritime trading center. Before reaching Spetses, youcan visit Xilokeriza beach for a quick swim. Thepicturesque old harbour and Dápia, a tourist andcommercial center where the heart of the island’sentertainment beats, are the trademarks of the townof Spetses. If you have time, you can take a trip aroundthe island in horse-drawn carriages and admire thegrand mansions adorning the narrow cobbled streetsof the island.

DAY 2 Cruise to the Argosaronic Gulf (2)

Hydra

For much of the past, Hydra has stayed on the marginsof history. The population was very small in ancienttimes, and except for the brief mentions in Herodotusand Pausanias, has left little or no record in the historyof those times. As you approach the port of Hydra, themagnificent little town opens its arms to you. Thestatue of Andreas Miaoulis, a local war hero, welcomesyou as he stares out to sea. Spanning from the port upthe hills, you can see the impressive clock tower ofHydra and beautiful old mansions as far as the eye cansee. There is no motor-transport allowed anywhere onthe island, only donkeys and water taxis provide ameans of getting around. There are a number of thingsthat you can do, from relaxed shopping and dining tovisiting museums and hiking.

DAY 3 Visit Mycenae and Nafplio

Mycenae, the “golden city” of ancient Greece is anUNESCO World Heritage Site that must not be missed.Mycenae was the epicenter of the Mycenaean worldand gave its name to a period and a civilization thatevolved throughout the entire Hellenic civilization andspread even further to the Mediterranean basinbetween the 16th and 12th c. BC. The city, firstlyfounded by Perseus, was the kingdom of Agamemnonand a very well organized community, as well as animportant commercial center. Nafplio is one of themost historic cities of the region, full of spectacularmonuments and sights that have stories that spanfrom the ancient times to the medieval. It hosted thefirst Greek parliament after the Greek War ofIndependence. It was also the town where the firstpharmacy was opened, the first military school wasfounded and the first Governor of Greece, IoannisKapodistrias, ruled the independent country.
