D2 . HSS . Tungsten & Titanium Carbide

Vacuum BondingThis process permanently bonds highly wearresistant materials such as Tungsten and TitaniumCarbides. These specialty materials are bondedto a less expensive, non-corrosive stainless steelbase. This tougher, more ductile material providesflexibility and greatly reduces the risk of knifedamage caused by over-torqueing during mount-ing. In most cases the bi-metallic blade will alsocost less than a solid knife.

CoatingsAre you looking for increased wear resistanceand lubricity? We offer many types and styles ofcoatings for applications where composites arenot an option. The most commonly used coatingsare the Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) andPhysical Vapor Deposition (PVD) series. Theseinclude TiN (Titanium Nitride), TiCN (TitaniumCarbo-Nitride), and TiC (Titanium Carbide). Allof these coatings offer increased wear resistanceand added lubricity, helping to reduce costs byextending blade life and reducing amount of cutproduct sticking to the blades. Tougher, morewear resistant coatings, such as Plasma SprayedTungsten Carbide are also available for extremelyabrasive conditions.
