We will check into our hotel for a two night stay before heading to an included Traditional Dutch Dinner and a performance by the Duchesses' singing and dancing in traditional costume. DAY 2 THURSDAY, MAY 2 ND (B,L) We will visit the Pella Historical Village/Vermeer Mill/Miniature Village and boyhood home of lawman, Wyatt Earp. Guided tour of the Pella community. We will enjoy an included lunch at Trinity Reformed Church. Following lunch we will have grandstand seating for pre-parade performances, street scrubbing, Dutch dancers followed by the Volks Parade. There will then be free time to grab some Dutch pastries or famous Pella Bologna and dried beef. You can enjoy the boutiques and Festival Craft Market. There is also a quilt show, Pella Garden Club Flower Show, Antique auto and implement show DAY 3 FRIDAY, MAY 3 RD (B,D) This morning we will see The Reluctant Pioneer at the Pella Opera House as told by the founder’s wife, Maria Scholte. Then we will tour the Scholte House Museum and Gardens. We will enjoy a boxed lunch as we travel to Winterset, Iowa. This afternoon we will tour the Iowa Quilt Museum and John Wayne Birthplace and Museum. On route to our dinner we will stop at the Covered Bridges Winery and sample some of their award-winning wines. Our included dinner this evening will be at the historic Northside Café. DAY 4 SATURDAY, MAY 4 TH (B,L) This morning we will have a step-on guide for our two hour tour of the covered bridges followed by a tour of the Madison County Historical Complex. Before leaving Winterset for our trip home we will enjoy our included lunch at the First Presbyterian Church.
