    Aims: To improve the students predicting, skimming and scanning skills.To enable the students to learn some expressions from the contextTo help the students comprehend the passage.

    Reasons for choosing Reading as our presentation:As we all know, reading is a typical type of lesson in the middle school in China

    and there are various kinds of teaching methodologies on reading. After studying inBrighton for more than seven weeks, Mia and I just want to put some of themethodologies we have learned into our presentation. Now, lets begin our class.Teaching procedures:1. Warming up:

    Today we want to introduce sth connected with the British breakfast.What did you have for your breakfast this morning?What did you spread on your toast?What do your host family have for that?.....marmiteActually, some British people cant go without it. "Marmite plays such a usefulpart in many people's diet Today, well read an article about it.

    2. Pre-reading:Prediction: Please look at the picture and the given words to predict what the

    1). Skimming:Youre given 1 minute to find out what the passage is mainly about. Could you

    give a title to it.-----Vitamin-rich Marmite is banned in Denmark.How can you find the main idea as quickly as possible?So you see, usually we can get it by the title. And You can make sure about it

    by reading the first and last paragraphs and the first sentence in each paragraph.2). Scanning:

    Read it again as carefully as you can, trying to find the answers to thesequestions: first silent reading for 5minute, after finding the answers, exchange yourideas with your partners
