Creation of new workforce:

Pediatric Heart Failure • Initiative from pediatric heart failure specialists (via

Pediatric Heart Transplant Study group) to form an organized consortium

• ISHLT Pediatric Council – best home to foster development and collaboration (rather than independent organization)

• Introductory meeting during Prague conference with >20 international participants, workforce leader identified.

Pediatric Heart Failure WorkforceGoals

– Accelerate advancement of field via international collaboration

– Develop consensus guidelines for pediatric heart failure management

– Increase involvement of pediatric and CHD heart failure specialists in ISHLT

– Strengthen collaboration among heart failure centers for trials/registries

– Develop educational material for clinicians, patients, and families
