S.G. Balekundri Institute of Technology, Belagavi in association with Visvesvaraya

Technological University, Belagavi has organized Three days National Level Workshop from

26th to 28th July 2018.

The program was inaugurated by Mr. Sharath M. Airani, Director, Brain Academy, Pune.

In his speech, he advised that, learning is a everyday activity, even the technology is changing at

a faster rate. Still the education system is not adopting the changes. The perception of education

has changed in the minds of the students.

Principal, Dr. S.S. Salimath in his presidential remarks stated that, he noticed the equal

importance to be given to practical and theory in the curriculum. In this modern age the teacher

should be more aware than the students. There is no formal training for becoming engineering

college teacher, so this program is designed to fill those gaps of teaching.

The program welcomed by Prof. Prasad Kallolimath. The program outline is addressed

by coordinator Dr. K.B. Jagadishgouda. Vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Anand Poddar. The

Heads of the departments and all teaching, non-teaching faculties were present during the

program.

Shri Subramanya Bhat

Topic: Connecting with Present Day Students.

Shri. Subramanya Bhat

Shri Subramanya Bhat emphasized on the topic of connecting with the present generation

student. He emphatically stressed that the present generation is much faster and well

exposed, sometimes well read about things happening around. He said, it is necessary for the

teachers to abreast themselves with knowhow of the technology, social fabric etc, to be in pace

with the students. If one fails in this task he or she even though might possess higher degrees

than the students, will get disconnected. Therefore, the role of the present-day teacher is very

critical and has to be continuously up dating himself / herself so that they always have

established a good connect.
