Peartree Spring Primary School Newsleer — 20/03/2020 School Closure - All parents are well aware of the latest news from the Government that all schools are closed with the exception of those with significant needs, eg children of key workers, vulnerable children (Educational Healthcare Plan), CIN (Child in Need) plan, CP (Child Protection) plan and have involvement with a social worker. The latest guidance is to stay at home where possible. We will of course update you via email/text on a regular basis. Home Learning - Please ensure that you are signed up and have your login details to the following Marvellous Me, TT Rock Stars, Education City, Monster Phonics (Rec to Yr3) and Bug Club. All details are in your child’s contact book. Monster Phonics - This is a phonics learning platform resources website for children in Reception to Year 3. To access please visit https://monsterphonics.com/ and login in with the following details username: parents and password: home learning. Marvellous Me (Parental Engagement) - This software/app engages parents by telling them about their children’s learning and success. Parents have received login details via their child’s home contact book - please email your child’s class if you need help with login details. Gulliver’s Dinosaur Park & Farm– Year 2 Trip to Gulliver’s has been rescheduled to Wednesday 1st July 2020. Payment is due by Friday 19th June 2020. Dreamcatcher Assembly - Mrs Chowdhury is organising some assemblies, whereby parents/relatives who have an interesting job are invited into school to speak the children about their role. This would hopefully encourage and inspire children to think about their careers for the future. Please contact the office on 01438 233900 if you or anyone that you know would be interested. Head Lice - Please can we remind parents to check and treat their child/ren in the necessary way and to check their hair on a regular basis. We must point out that failure to treat your child’s hair appropriately is considered to be a form of neglect. We insist that all parents are vigilant and treat their child/ren BEFORE they return to school and do not knowingly send them to school with head lice. Year 6 Booster Clubs - A reminder that Year 6 Booster Clubs have now finished for this term. A letter will be sent to parents in April 2020 regarding clubs for the Summer Term. Playcentres Suspension of Services - Message from Stevenage Borough Council - Dear children, parents and carers, Following the recent Government advice regarding limiting social contact in order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, we have made the difficult decision to suspend our service and close the play centre until further notice. This is to ensure we are protecting children, their families and our staff. We will keep you updated on social media (Stevenage Borough Council on Facebook and @StevenageBC on Twitter), as well as through displayed notices. We are sorry for any inconvenience at this time, but keeping you safe is our priority. Should you require any further information, please call the Communities and Neighbourhood team on 01438 242389. W/c 23rd March 2020 is Lunch Week 2 of the Spring menu The lunch menu is available to peruse on our school website. The cost of a school meal is £2.50 per day, £12.50 per week.
