Qualifications are no longer automatically approved for 19+ funding

To be funded, entry and level 1 qualifications MUST:

• Be 6 or more credits

• Have at least 100 learners taking them

• Have a clear purpose that enables learners to progress to

work or further study

• Be supported by at least 3 providers

The SFA rules are currently being reviewed for 2016 and further submissions are currently on hold.

Ofqual review

The QCF• No longer exists• Replaced with RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework)• All references to QCF to be removed from specifications and

support materials by December 2017• Shared unit ownership transferred to all Awarding Organisations

where applicable

TQT (Total Qualification Time)• TQT to include assessment, delivery and self directed learning

time• Any qualification appearing on a performance list must have TQT

assigned by June 2016• All ‘live’ qualifications from December 2017 must include TQT

Purpose

• The proposed 180 and 360 GLH qualifications are pre-employment, skills based qualifications that equip learners with the skills they need to progress to level 2

• The qualifications are designed to address personal skills and sector specific skills

• The units will be organised into 2 groups A and B

• The intention is that the combination of group A and B units will provide learners with a personalised and holistic learning experience

• Group A units may be delivered and assessed in or outside of the vocational context
