In this tutorial, you will learn about the student experience on the Pearson English Learning System.

Student accounts are typically created by an administrator or teacher. After receiving their username and password, students log in on pearsonenglishlearningsystem.com. After log-in, students will then arrive on their home page. Please note that all Pearson English Learning System programs—Cornerstone, Keystone, and Language Central—have the same instructional design. In this guide, you will see examples from Cornerstone. Online Tests

Mobile Apps

Worksheets

Online Tests takes you to the Pearson SuccessNet® Announcements Page. Click Enter to access the SuccessNet® home page.

Click To Do, to see a list of assignments. On the Pearson English Learning System, these assignments may include a diagnostic pretest, unit tests, or teacher-generated quizzes or tests built on SuccessNet®.

To complete a test, students click the title. Once a test is completed, it is marked as complete, and the results are sent to the teacher. To see results at any time, students click Done, and then click the title.

Click Home to go back to the SuccessNet® home page. If students have completed their work in SuccessNet®, they will click Log Out. Click the browser tab or window for the Pearson English Learning System Portal to go back to your student home page. To log out of the portal, click the arrow in the drop-down menu underneath your name, and then click Log Out. Remember that closing a window does not log you out.

Mobile Apps provides links to the iTunes™ store where students can download the applications to use on a tablet or other mobile device.

Students can use the apps to display their eTexts or spend free classroom time playing games associated with the eText like Grammar Jammers and myFlashcard Maker. After the apps have been downloaded to your media device, these links will take you directly to your app. Click Home to return to your student home page.

Worksheets allows students to access the unit pages from the program level’s Practice Book. These pages are downloadable or printable PDF versions of your program’s Practice Book.

Audio & Video

Other Navigational Features

Search

Homework

Audio & Video contains MP3 audio and MP4 videos from each unit of instruction. The audio files and videos can also be downloaded to your computer.

Here are some of the other navigational features that students can access on the Pearson English Learning System student home page.

For additional help in finding program components, click in the box labeled Search Resources. After typing in the name of the item you are searching for, hit enter. Search results appear on the Resources & Tools page. You can also further narrow your topic to find the specific resources you want in your program.

Homework allows students to bookmark resources they would like quick access to when they log in to the Pearson English Learning System. This feature is the student version of Favorites seen on the teacher’s system account. Anytime you see a resource with a star, you can click it, changing it from white to gold color to indicate it is a homework item. Clicking the star again changes it to white and removes it from this page. For more information about this feature, watch the How to Manage Your Favorites tutorial on this Web site.

Resources & Tools

Translate

Review

Resources & Tools provides filters to search for resources under Instruction, Media, or Activity. For example, if you want to find all of your eText audio files. Select Audio and the program searches for all of the resources related to that filter.

Translate gives you access to an online translator that provides additional language support.

This guide explained the student experience on the Pearson English Learning System.
