INTRODUCTIONThe assertion that organisations’ most valuable asset and sustainable source of competitive advantage is their people is a matter of fact. Yet true as this is, unless an organisation devises and executes an overarching people management strategy aimed at getting the best out of their employees, those same employees could well become the source of the organisation’s downfall. The truth is that recruiting the best qualified staff does not in itself guarantee peak performance; making use of their skills in a collaborative way towards your organisation’s goals is what guarantes peak performance. Undeniably, trapped in every employee (including those you think are your worst performing employees) is an untapped reserve of human resourcefulness awaiting discovery by a smart manager like you! According to Brian Tracey, people are 100% emotional; the way they feel about their manager, company, and even themselves whilst at work is a critical determinant of their performance. Thus, how they feel determines their level of engagement and how involved, dedicated, committed and creative they are. Sometimes you do not need to change your employees; all you need is ‘change you’ – your people management strategy! This seminar will give you an entirely new perspective on the effect of your chosen people management strategy on your employees’ performance. It will show you the critical link between the feelings of your employees and their level of productivity. or more than twenty years, Dr Samuel Tengey (Sam) has been involved in the Learning and Development industry, working for different organisations across different sectors: private, government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, and non-profits. He has provided training solutions and consultancy services on HR Systems Transformation, Management Strategy, Change Management, Outsourcing, and Leadership Development. He was part of the Team that validated Ghana’s Youth Employment Policy and the National Human Resource Development Policy in 2011 and 2012 respectively. Sam has facilitated training and consultancy sessions for Boards, CEOs/MDs, Executive Managers and HR Directors, Team Leaders and Supervisors across Ghana, UK and the US. Over the years he has developed a solid philosophy and methodology for facilitating adult learning sessions that is engaging and centered on the learners’ needs. Educated up to doctoral level, Sam has also practiced as professional educator from primary school to postgraduate (MBA) level, and has supervised the thesis of several students at undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels. He has written books and published articles in academic and practitioner journals. A founding partner and Lead Consultant of GSR Consulting (UK and Ghana) Sam has managed different consultancy and training projects, including major HR and change projects. He has restructured and redesigned organisations and their HR systems; developed their competitive strategy, and established solid management and leadership development programmes that have enabled and supported organisation’s growth. His Managers’ Assessment Tool and six-level Success-Prone Manager and Turbulence-Proof Leader training programme continue to benefit a growing number of organisations. He has provided training facilitation to several organisations including GCB, Societe Generale, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), Volta River Authority, Ghana Revenue Authority, and Ghana Export Promotion Authority.
