Peabody Teachers Collaborative on Global Change FREE 3-Day Summer Teacher Institute Session 1: Tuesday, July 23 –Thursday, July 25 Session 2: Tuesday, July 30 –Thursday,August 1 Teachers accepted to the summer institute will receive: • FREE 3-day institute, including hands-on curriculum training • One free Peabody Museum program for your class • Free family passes to give to each of your students • Access to a Global Change materials kit that includes Museum objects and specimens • $200 stipend after teaching and assessing the complete set of activities in your classroom • Free Peabody Museum Family Membership The Museum is excited to offer a professional development opportunity for educators who teach about biotic and abiotic factors, food chains and food webs, and responses to changes in the environment (CT Science Standard 4.2). With science content addressing Common Core ELA informational text reading, research and writing standards, the institute will focus on global change in its many forms including climate change and its effects on ecosystems and living things. The exciting new curriculum, developed by fellow Connecticut teachers, is event-based and object oriented.
