Why Procure Locally?Local procurement significantly contributes to economic growth and recovery. In fact, it is the most efficient way ofincluding the private sector in the international assistance effort. By strengthening linkages between buyers and localsuppliers operating in the Haitian private sector, local procurement creates jobs, improves long-term economic growthand facilitates increased access to locally available goods and services.

Since August 2009, Peace Dividend Trust has operated the Peace Dividend Marketplace - Haiti project to channel theinternational communitys local procurement activities so that money is spent in Haiti, not just on Haiti. This isaccomplished through a targeted suite of business development services aimed at increasing the positive distributionalimpact of the international presence in Haiti. To better help you access the Haitian marketplace, this snapshot highlightsspecific information about our Matchmaking, Tender Distribution and Business Portal Services respectively.

The Haiti Marketplace Project provides on-demand vendor identification, sectoral and regionalassessments, support to promotional events, seminars, and other opportunities that bridge local supply with demand.

Tender Distribution ServicesTo publicize their requirements to Haitian suppliers, buyers can use the Tender Distribution Service. The TenderDistribution Service disseminates tenders, Request for Proposals, Request for Quotations and other opportunities toregistered local businesses via the Haiti Business Portal (www.haiti.buildingmarkets.org/tenders) through targetedtext message and email notifications. To post your tender on our tender directory, please send an email with theattached tender document to [email protected].
