On-Stage News………… *THE SHELTERBELT THEATRE PRESENTS Plans to Form a Human Chain Faltered and The Unexpected July 7-31

Plans to Form a Human Chain Faltered by Shayne M. Kennedy is a rapid fire comedy centered on Bethany, the scatter-brained captain of a100 yard section of a human chain for a ―worthy‖ cause. Of course, being in charge of a section of a human chain isn’t easy; especially with an errant map, a domineering supervisor and a serious lack of math skills. With time quickly running out, it seems like Bethany may have to get by with a little ―help‖ from her friends. Meganne Horrocks will direct this mixed cast of Shelterbelt newbies and veterans that includes Kaitlyn McClincy, Noelle Pee, Kate Bacome, Mark Vondrasek, Vernon Wheeler and Jesse Hapke. The Unexpected, a short play also by Shayne M. Kennedy allows the audience to listen in as Julia drops some big news on her Mother and Grandmother. True to its name, this short play puts a surprising spin on a hot button social issue. Adam Nathan directs the family, which includes Melissa Carnahan, Kate Bacome and Kaitlyn McClincy. Behind the scenes you will find Stage Manager Melissa Carnahan, Assistant Stage Manager Crystal Hagerman, Sound Designer Dave Podendorf, Set Designer Adam Nathan, Lighting Designer Tom Reardon, Associate Producer Dan Baye, and Producer McClain Smouse.
