How it works...
A pattern of 1" holes are drilled through the sunken slabs.
Grout is pumped under the slab raising it to the desired height.
The holes are patched with cement.
What is the diff erence between Mudjacking and
Polyurethane Concrete Raising?
BOTH METHODS ACHIEVE THE SAME RESULTS:
Raise and support sunken or unstable concrete slabs by drilling holes and
pumping material under the slab.
MUDJACKING uses a grout-based material that is infused with Portland
cement. This slurry is hydraulically pumped under the slab to fi ll voids
and raise the concrete. Mudjacking material weighs on average 100 lbs.
per cubic foot.
POLYURETHANE CONCRETE RAISING uses a foam material that
is injected under the slab. When the components of this material are
mixed, a reaction causes the material to expand. This expanded foam
fi lls any voids and raises concrete. This material will never lose density.
After it is installed, it is permanent and weighs about 2 lbs. per cubic foot.
MUDJACKING involves drilling a series of 1” holes in a slab of concrete
so the material can be pumped under the settled slab.
POLYURETHANE CONCRETE RAISING drills a nearly invisible 3/8”
hole and the process calls for considerably fewer holes than traditional
mudjacking.
Concrete Leveling for Municipal, Industrial,
Commercial and Residential Applications
POLYURETHANE & MUDJACKING has hundreds of uses: Concrete
Leveling/Lifting of streets, roads, highways, tunnels and bridge
approaches, sealing leaking manholes and storm drains and fi lling
abandoned sewer lines. Polyurethane fi lls in voids caused by vibrations.
Soil Stabilization, Infrastructure Repair, Void Filling, Airport Runway
Leveling, Taxiway Leveling, Sidewalk Leveling, Warehouse Floor Leveling,
Curb Leveling, Structure Stabilization, Interior Floor Stabilization, Heavy
Machine Stabilization and Foundation Spray Insulation.

MudjackingMudjacking is a method of lifting concrete that involves drilling 1” holes
through the concrete surface and injecting a grout-based material to
fi ll under any slab. This will fi ll voids and raise the concrete section to
the desired grade. The procedure can be used to raise virtually any rigid
pavement.
After the void is fi lled and the concrete is raised to the desired height,
the holes are then fi lled with concrete. These holes match very well with
existing concrete. The newly concreted holes darken with age; it usually
matches very well within 1 - 8 months depending on the age of existing
concrete.
Mudjacking is much cheaper than Polyurethane Lifting due to the cost
of the foam materials. And in most cases, the Mudjacking does just as
good as the Polyurethane. The benefi t of using Mixan Mudjacking is we
do both, so we will let you know what process will work the best for you
and will be the most cost eff ective.
IS MUDJACKING PERMANENT?
Yes, the material we fi ll your void with is crushed rock. The rock will
not break down over time and is less likely to erode than soil. Most
sinking is caused by compaction or erosion of soil under the slab. This
usually occurs around the foundation of newer construction, leading
to drops in the front of your driveway, in sidewalks near your home,
and in concrete slabs over the utility trenches leading into the home.
In older construction, there can be drainage problems which cause soil
to erode or compact. Even if the concrete is torn out and replaced, the
same problem can occur unless the compaction process is fi nished or the
drainage problem is corrected.
REPLACING CONCRETE?
There are many factors to consider when you are faced with broken or
settled concrete. First and foremost, is the condition of the concrete: if
the concrete is cracked into numerous small chunks or badly eroded,
showing exposed aggregate, you may be better off replacing the slab.
If you have a relatively good slab of concrete, or if you intend to cover
the slab with another fl oor system, you should defi nitely consider
Mudjacking or Polyurethane Foam Lifting to level the concrete.
Consideration should also be given to what has caused the concrete to
settle.
WHY SHOULD I LIFT OR LEVEL MY CONCRETE?
• To eliminate a tripping or slipping hazard, which can be a safety and a
liability issue.
• Aesthetics – to improve the look of an area. In a large area, like a pool
deck, an uneven slab detracts from the overall look.
• Preventative maintenance - stabilizing the subsoil can stop the slab
from breaking.
• Reduced maintenance cost in the long term.
• Control water drainage.
• More cost eff ective than replacing the slab.
• Faster than replacement - you can use the area when done.

Void FillingVoid Filling will eliminate the voids and compact the supporting soils. The root causes of voids are often poor compaction of the fi ll materials, erosion, high water content (shrink and swell cycles), decaying organic materials, freeze and thaw cycles, animals and vibration. These voids, if left unattended, will lead to the eventual breaking of the concrete. Voids can lead to erosion by allowing water to travel under the slab. These voids can be very common under driveways, attached garages and walkways.
In industry, the vibrations of machinery cause the supporting base material to vibrate, which allows the fi ner particles to settle out and consolidate lower down, leaving a void, resulting in settled and eventually broken concrete.
Underground municipal infrastructures are susceptible to voids, especially around manholes, catch basins and utility raceways. Void fi lling and leak repair can be done either from the inside or from the surface, eliminating the need to excavate.
Void Filling Foam is designed to fl ow longer before it cures. The low viscosity of the polyurethane allows it to fl ow and fi ll voids to 1/32. All this means less mess and inconvenience and a minimal loss of use of the slab. In commercial settings, loss of use can be a signifi cant cost when considering repairs.
SETTLEMENT
Settlement can destroy the integrity of concrete slabs and foundations.
The root causes are often poor compaction of original fi ll materials, high
water content, decaying organic materials, freeze-thaw cycles, animals,
vibration, heavy equipment, erosion caused by poor drainage, or broken
underground pipes.
Poor compaction and erosion are the most common reason concrete
settles, and when water is added to the equation, even the most
compacted subgrades will settle. By tending to the root cause, the job
gets done correctly and the slab is only lifted once.

Polyurethane Concrete Raising achieves the same results as traditional
mudjacking, with a lightweight material that requires smaller and fewer
injection holes. Also known as Foam Lifting, Polyurethane Concrete
Lifting/Raising is the latest and greatest concrete repair method
available.
The equipment is contained in a truck
or trailer, and has a suffi cient length of
hose to accommodate your needs. The
equipment remains parked while the
polyurethane crew pulls out enough
hose to reach the area being repaired.
Polyurethane foam is injected under the
slab, fi lling voids and raising it to the
correct level.
MORE EFFICIENT
It’s over 80% faster than alternative methods of repair. Material hardens in
minutes, allowing the project to be completed in hours, versus the days or
weeks that other methods require.
SUPERIOR ACCURACY
Polyurethane foam creates its own hydraulic lift, so we can control
the lifting process precisely to within 10/1000th of an inch. Other
methods must account for shrinkage of material by over-lifting the area,
polyurethane will never shrink.
LESS DISRUPTION
Due to the fast curing time of high-density polyurethane, traffi c control can
be removed and lanes reopened to traffi c immediately after the injection
process. Nighttime scheduling lessens delays and inconveniences.
HIGHER DURABILITY
Polyurethane’s compressive strength provides a solid and dense product,
yet its tensile strength and elongation allows for the material to be pliable,
allowing it to permanently support the roadway structure by being tough,
yet forgiving.
Polyurethane Injection/Lifting CONFORMABILITYBy expanding 20 times its liquid volume, polyurethane foam material moves laterally beneath the pavement, fi lling all voids. Additionally, it perfectly contours to the size and shape of the voids to fully completely support the pavement with 100% coverage.
COMPACTION ABILITYAn additional benefi t during the lifting process is the compaction of base soils through the resistance of lifting the concrete structure. The material bleeds into the subbase and binds soil particles together, strengthening the base material.
LIGHTER WEIGHTPolyurethane only adds 2 pounds per cubic foot to the subbase, compared to the 100 pounds-plus that mudjacking grout adds.
BETTER STRUCTURAL INTEGRITYTo help maintain structural integrity of the concrete pavement, injection holes are only 3/8” in diameter, versus 1” or larger for other concrete lifting methods.
MOISTURE RESISTANTOur specially formulated polyurethane material is designed for wet conditions. Its hydrophobic properties displace and repel water without being compromised and replaces any missing subbase with a solid/dense material unaff ected by moisture.
MOISTURE SEAL BARRIERPolyurethane seals the underside of concrete pavement joints and cracks to eliminate water penetration and erosion issues.
INFRASTRUCTURE REHABILITATIONPuts counties, cities and municipalities in control of their aging infrastructure by saving them time and money.

We Can Handle All Sorts of Agricultural
Mudjacking and Concrete Applications
Repair the tired and cracked base of your grain bins!
We do a number of Bins and Silos.
We can usually come in and Mudjack your bin and
silos without disrupting your operation.
Grain bin fl oors are challenged by the heavy weight of the grain stored
inside. They are also less supported as rodents tunnel holes underneath.
Help maintain your grain bins by allowing us to fi ll the voids and help
raise and support the concrete slab. This will provide a better storage
base for your grain.
Damaged grain bin fl oors and foundations are unsafe and unhealthy, not
to mention the damage caused to the grain.
By fi lling in any crack or open area under your fl oors, we would be able
to return your bin to a safe and functional storage facility. Grain bins are
a large investment, so don’t jeopardize your bins or silos by overlooking
problems that may come up with your foundations, fl oors or pads.
Fixing voids or settling issues when they are fi rst noticed may save
thousands in later fi xes. Let us be your partner to solve any foundation
or fl oor problems you may encounter on your farm or feedlot. We’ll do
our best to ensure that your foundation remains strong and functional.
Remember, without a solid base many things can go wrong.
Grain Bins & Silos
Your grain bins are usually fl oating foundations, meaning the
foundations don’t go below the frost line. So, with this said, the bins
are much more likely to shift and crack over time, so instead of paying
thousands to have a new fl oor installed with our specialized equipment,
we can lift your bin back in place or fi ll a void due to rodents. This will
provide a solid base under your bin fl oor that will support all of your
grain. A 9,000 bushel bin weighs over 500,000 lbs. plus the bin and fl oor
so any part of the fl oor, that isn’t supported with this much weight, you
can imagine what damage can be done to a fl oor or bin.
If you are aff ected by any of these issues, give us a call. We would be
happy to provide you with a written proposal for the necessary repairs.
MUDJACKING OFFERS ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
• Mudjacking stabilizes the subsoil, and fi lls the void, eliminating erosion,
water penetration, certain foundation leaks, animals and insects.
• On much larger grain bins, if you are having problems with the bin
sinking, we can stabilize the bin with push piers. This process will
stabilize the bin by placing 3” piers into the ground 10’-100’ depending
on the soils.
• This has a lifetime warranty.
• We can also lift the grain bin back into place using push piers and
mudjacking, if needed.

Curtain Grouting
Water leaking through cracks and joints in storm sewer pipes, culverts, manholes and other
below grade structures creates a maintenance nightmare. Water carries surrounding soil
into the structures resulting in erosion problems, cave-ins, potholes and broken sidewalks.
Serious structural damage can occur if left untreated. You can seal the leaks and stabilize the
soil inexpensively and permanently.
Curtain Grouting is a process of pressure injection of our polyurethane resins to stop water leaking through cracks or joints in concrete or masonry. The resin will react with water and expand to form a water-tight gasket inside or behind the structure.
Curtain Grouting is used for manholes, sewer pipes, water pipes, and underground tunnels.
Soil StabilizationSoil stabilization is a process where
a low dose of catalyst is used,
slowing down the reaction which
allows the material to permeate
loosely compacted soil. The resin
is normally injected through small
diameter pipes or “probes” deep into
the soil, and as it cures it solidifi es,
encapsulating the soil where it
has penetrated. These columns are
then used as the solid base for the
polyurethane to do the heavy lifts or
for soil compaction.
This method is useful to stabilize the soils under roads, around manholes,
basins and bridge aprons and is recommended before lifting after through
poor or loose soil substrates (sandy soils, poorly compacted fi ll, etc.) results
in erosion, movement and/or loss of soils causing failure in above-and
below-grade structures such as slabs, foundations, roadways and bridges.

Leak/Crack Sealing
FAQsHOW MUCH MONEY WILL I SAVE BY MUDJACKING?
Mudjacking is approximately 1/2 - 1/3 the cost of concrete
replacement.
HOW LONG DOES MUDJACKING TAKE?
Average mudjacking jobs usually take 1 - 2 hours. Larger jobs take
longer, but usually not longer than 1 day.
WHAT CAN BE MUDJACKED? WHAT CANNOT?
All concrete can be mudjacked. Examples include driveways, steps,
patios, pools, basement fl oors, garage fl oors, sidewalks, grain
bins, city streets, boat ramps, parking lots, interior fl oors, loading
docks, runways, highways, schools, generator pads, warehouse
fl oors and more.
There may be a few circumstances when concrete cannot be
mudjacked. It is best to get an estimate to fi nd out. Also, if the
concrete is severely broken up, it is usually better to be replaced
than mudjacked.
WHEN CAN WE DRIVE ON THE DRIVEWAY?
Vehicle traffi c 4-6 hours for average size vehicles when
mudjacking and 15 minutes when using polyurethane.
HOW LONG WILL CONCRETE LEVELING OR RAISING LAST?
This process can last many years or decades, because our product
is crushed rock or Polyurethane, so it will not settle or deteriorate
over time. However, if the ground is not 100% compacted or
there continues to be soil washed out under the product this may
reoccur. If it does, these slabs can be lifted back into place again
using the same holes.
Polyurethane foam can be very eff ective in sealing leaking cracks
in foundation walls and fl oors, in both residential and commercial
applications. The polyurethane foam is injected from the inside, through
the concrete wall, to form a permanent waterproof barrier that adheres
to the outside of the concrete wall displacing moisture and water. This
method of sealing compared to other methods, in most cases, solves the
root cause of the problem by addressing the issue on the outside of the
wall rather than only sealing the crack on the inside, which over time
may allow water to eventually push through again.
Installation is easy with minimum disruption or mess. This process is cost
eff ective, and also adds an insulating value to the wall or fl oor where
foam is added.
This process can be used for basement walls,
fl oors, parking garages, garage fl oors,
retaining walls and commercial buildings.

Mixan Mudjacking Testimonials
What do our valued customers say about us?
We had Mixan Mudjacking lift our garage fl oor. I just wanted to say thank you. Bob
came out on the scheduled day to do his job. We had been having problems with water
on the side of our house. I asked Mr. Mixan what he thought. He spent over an hour
with me explaining to me the diff erent ideas that may resolve my problem - ideas that I
could do myself. I tried them and they worked people. This is the type of people we need
doing business in Omaha, not always up selling, but honestly concerned and helpful. I
would recommend him for any job. Thanks again, Bob, for your extra time.
