Intent and Overview

This course is designed to cover the most recent advances in thyroid cancer therapy including methods of detection, treatment and research. Upon completion of the activity, learners from several disciplines should be able to discuss the latest thyroid cancer methods of detection, treatment, surveillance and research and describe how these advances can be applied to their practice.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for physicians, nurses and other health care professionals practicing in the areas of endocrinology, surgical, medical, radiation oncology, pathology, general surgery and otolaryngology.

Continuing Education Credit

The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Each physician should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Other health care professionals are awarded 0.7 continuing education units (CEUs) which are equal to 7.25 contact hours.

The conference will be held at the Herberman Conference Center, located on the second floor of the Cancer Pavilion at UPMC Shadyside, 5150 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
