Risk Control services

Our risk control group is considered one of the best in the industry. This overseas network is familiar with local safety codes, construction standards and risk management practices. This local

presence, coupled with the resources and expertise of Travelers’ domestic capabilities, results in risk management programs, seminars and personalized service plans that have a proven impact on preventing loss and reducing overall costs for global exposures. Travelers provides local claim services through our network resources, monitored and controlled by our dedicated international claims staff in the United States. Global Companion

Our Global Companion product combines property and liability coverages in a package for your international operations. We offer coverage to address exposures such as:

• Employees traveling or permanently based outside the United States and Canada

• Exhibits en route to, and on display at, international trade shows

• Products exported and services provided outside the United States and Canada

• Lawsuits worldwide for occurrences that take place, or offenses that are committed, overseas

• Manufacturing operations outside the United States and Canada

• Sales offices and distribution warehouse operations for products and services outside the United States and Canada

• Employees traveling in foreign countries where kidnapping may be an issue

• Renting, owning or leasing automobiles outside of the United States and Canada

• Joint venture partners with overseas ownership or operations

Global Companion Controlled Master Programs (CMPs)

We also offer a CMP custom-designed property and liability program for multinational companies with significant international operations.

• We combine the Global Companion product, issued as a DIC/DIL master policy, with local admitted coverage in one or more countries

• Each CMP program is designed to meet the client’s specific financial and insurance objectives, based on the countries involved, the scope of the insured’s foreign operations, and the coverages required to be compliant in all jurisdictions

• A CMP minimizes coverage gaps with a seamless, global program of foreign coverages and services

Global Executive Support

Global Executive Support, an added non-insurance feature of our international programs, provides essential services to employees and their families to keep them worry-free while traveling and working abroad. We work closely with FrontierMEDEX to supply the following services:

• A wide range of medical assistance, including medical monitoring and arranging medical emergency evacuations

• Personal assistance, such as help with replacing lost travel documents, locating lost baggage, and obtaining legal and translation services

• Assistance making emergency travel arrangements for employees, family members, and traveling companions in the event of an employee’s illness

Real-life situations – Travelers is there to help

A Norwegian beverage manufacturer alleges that special beverage cans manufactured in the U.S. by a U.S.-based policyholder are defective and have caused damage to its products. Because of the defect, the manufacturer is forced to destroy several batches of its finished product. The manufacturer files a lawsuit in Norway against the policyholder. The policyholder’s U.S. general liability policy does not cover lawsuits brought outside the U.S.

Travelers Global Companion covers defense costs and provides indemnification for product liability suits for covered bodily injury or property damage brought against the policyholder in Norway and around the world.

Office equipment is damaged at the policyholder’s office in Belgium when smoke filters through the ceiling from another tenant’s office above where the fire took place.

Travelers Global Companion covers direct physical loss or damage at covered locations anywhere outside of the U.S. and Canada.
