February February 2011 Economic Plan To be Developed Following the release of the Town's Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP) July 2010, and building upon one of the key economic goals identified in that plan to expand and diversify the local economy, the town has begun the process of developing its first Economic Plan. With support, guidance and assistance from the Northeast Avalon Regional Economic Development Board, the town will be hosting a number of planning and consultation sessions with both the public and business community to identify both opportunities for development and challenges to be addressed. A completion date of September 2011 is anticipated. Look for a new section to be added to the Town website pcsp.ca that will provide updates on progress as well as Update on the Old St. Philip's Church opportunities for input. Heritage Day Citizens ForumFebruary 21 2011

7:00 – 9:30 PMLegion, Portugal Cove

The Heritage Advisory Committee of Portugal Cove – St. Philip's is inviting all citizens to come to a public forum on the town's heritage.

Part I: will include traditional music and dance, a display of heritage items, and an informative talk on the heritage of Portugal Cove – St. Philip's. Part II of the forum will be devoted to ideas and suggestions from participants.

The information gathered through the forum will be used to ongrats to PCSP resident, Dr. Jennifer O'Dea draft a Heritage Plan outlining how our heritage assets will be who has been appointed to the Discipline of preserved, recognized, celebrated and integrated into the

Pediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine, at Memorial CTown's identity. A further public forum will be held probably in University. Dr. O'Dea is a member of Beachy Cove the autumn 2011 to present the draft plan and seek input from Elementary School Council.citizens in finalizing the plan.
