SYSTEM POTENTIAL

The V5.0 programme can be used to create the structure of the 300 or 300 + ET-I300 system graphically (it permits LAN communication between system 300 devices). through a tree of the links between the various logical functions (blocks, entry panels, porters,..).

To interface with the 300 system, the IPC/300LR (versions PCS/300 to 4.0) or IPC/301LR programming inter-face is required (makes it possible to read X2 messages for diagnostic purposes). In systems with ET-I300, programming takes place through the PC, connecting directing to the network LAN.

DEL SOFTWARE INSTALLATION

To install the programme, run the setup.exe fi le on the disc and follow the instructions provided. When installed for the fi rst time, the programme will ask where to locate certain directories (we recommend confi rming the locations proposed by the system). The programme is divided into 2 sections: 300 and 300+ETI300. The 300 section is dedicated to programming 300 video entry control systems or systems that use XA/300LR or XA/301LR power suppliers and to X1/X2 system diagnosis (only from version PCS/300 V5.0). The 300+ETI300 section also programmes ET-I300 devices. Each section can be accessed in Planning or Maintenance mode. In Planning mode, the user can create/modify the system structures, while in Maintenance mode the struc-tures cannot be modifi ed and the user can only check and update the devices (new fi rmware, factory reset, etc.).

This programme can be used on the following operating systems: Windows/95, /98, /SE, /2000, /NT4.0, /ME, /XP, /VISTA.The driver is found in the folder where the PCS/300 programme is installed.

✎ Note: - Use the F1 key to activate the help window.- If the PC screen is set for 800x600 pixel resolution, set the Properties - applications bar to Automatically

Hide in order to be able to see the programme status bar.- If, when the programme starts (using Windows/95), an error window appears regarding fi le TAPI32.DLL,

you will need to install driver tapi2195 available from the Microsoft website ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/de-velopr/TAPI/tapi2195.zip.

- If other programmes are also running at the same time as PCS300 and you encounter operating problems for the functions that require connection to the system (i.e. device programme, system download, etc.), you will need to close the programmes that are interfering with the computer's communication ports.

System With Several XA/300-301LR and X2 Blocks, With or Without Main Porter Switchboard

Starting from the structure created as per chapter “System with Several XA/300LR-301LR, With or With-out Main Porter Switchboard” (page 16) add the “X2/X1 block” icon under each block and continue with the confi guration as described in the chapter “System With 1 XA/300-301LR Only and X2 Blocks, With or Without Porter Switchboard” (page 14).

Confi guration of a System with Several Audio/Video Lines

Normally a residential system has a single Audio/Video communication line between the main devices (ICP/LR, HAC/300, IPD/300) and one of the various 300 blocks (with XA/300LR).The 300 system makes it possible to expand the system features, managing up to 256 main audio/video lines. Managing several lines therefore makes it possible to have several audio/video communications at the same time. From a physical point of view, the lines can be connected in diff erent combinations using up to 4 ICB/300 for each 300 block (XA/300LR) with or without the help of ML/300 selectors. From a logical point of view, these Audio/Video lines are numbered individually and this numbering must be entered in the features of the devices concerned (default line 1 = 1):

XA/300LR

ICP/LR, HAC/300LR, IPD/300LR

ML/300 as selector

ML/300 as splitter

19

Special Systems With ML/300LR (for expert users)The ML/300LR article is a selector that can be used as a line splitter (for audio and video lines) in order to increase the system features (total cable length), as a selector (for audio and video lines) in order to manage a porter switchboard, a panel on several main lines (see management with several ICB/300 or with diversifi ed lines) or to permit intercommunication between porter switchboards connected on diff erent A/V lines.

Use as Splitter

Drag and drop the "ML/300 audio/video splitter" icon under the "Plant" icon ("test300+XA300) to double the quantity of cable that can be used in the system (fi g. 1).

By selecting the ML/300 device and then “Modify" on the screen represented in fi gure 2, it is possible to set the required parameters (the connected line number, the panels/porter switchboards managed, the XA/300LR connected to each line A and B). At the end of the process, confi rm the operations by pressing “OK”.

Video Entry Phone Device Confi guration (panels, porter switchboards, receivers,...)

All the "intelligent" devices in the video entry control system have an 8-fi gure alphanumerical serial number S/N (X2/X2 devices, such as the OPHERA and Lynea internal receivers, the X1/X2 HEV/301 panels, the VSE/300 selector, etc.) or a 12-fi gure alphanumerical number (300 devices, such as the XA/300LR power supplier, the HAC/300LR and ICP/LR panels, the IOD/303 relay, etc.). The system confi guration consists of associating each "intelligent" device represented in the system structure with its own identifi cation S/N. The serial numbers S/N can be collected in 3 diff erent ways.

Manual Entry in OFFLINE Mode (system not connected)

Select the “Data Collection” button and the screen represented in fi gure 2 will open.

Programming the Devices by Downloading the System Structure

The system with ET-I300 can be programmed with the discovery procedure active or with the discovery procedure inactive (default). If this procedure is active it makes it possible to search for the ET-I300 present in the network through their MAC ADDRESS, thus automatically assigning the IP addresses entered by the PCS/300 in each ET-I300 (see paragraph "Other Confi gurations Necessary Before Downloading the Confi guration”). The discovery procedure is only possible for devices connected in the same sub-network (see "ET-I300 Con-fi guration Manual”). In the case of multiple sub-networks or by pure choice, the ET-I300 programming must be proceeded by the manual assignment of the IP, to be carried out individually by the PC for each ET-I300 (see “ET-I300 con-fi guration Manual”).

To activate the discovery procedure, press the main “Plant” icon (test300+ET-300) , the entry “Use discovery” normally set at “No” will then appear among the features (fi g. 1). Change the setting to “Yes" by selecting “Modify” and then double clicking on "yes". Confi rm by click-ing on “OK” (fi g. 2). ✎ Note: The programming procedure should be carried out af-ter checking that all the associations have been made between the devices with the relative S/N and any nec-essary confi gurations envisaged for the ET-I300 and any A/V lines.
