What is PCLaw Mobility Service?

• web based service

− through your internet-enabled smartphone or mobile device with no cabling or synching required.

• Capture billable time and expenses as they occur

• Secure access to critical case/matter information and client contacts

• Respond to clients faster

• Improve productivity

− with the ability to search and filter matters by Client Number, Matter Number, Matter Description or Type of Law

• Direct input to PCLaw

How can we get Mobility?

• The mobility service is included in your AMP at no additional cost.

• What if my AMP has lapsed?

− You MUST renew your AMP to use mobility

• If our AMP has lapsed and we have been using mobility what happens?

− You will lose access to mobility and MUST renew your AMP to continue

• Choose whether it is a time or expense entry

• Choose date

• Enter description

• Enter duration

• Enter or choose task code

• Use the matter lookup to choose the matter

• Click save

Setting Up the Users

• Requirements

− Each user MUST have a STRONG password

• What is a STRONG password?

• It must be at least eight characters long

• It must include both uppercase and lowercase letters

• It cannot be the same as your User ID

• It must contain at least one numeric or special character

• The last five passwords used are tracked, and may not be used again

− Each user MUST change their password every 90 days max (or sooner)

− Accessible on any internet capable device

MUST be logged on as admin to get the security preferences

• Access Security Preferences to enable mobility

• Enable Advanced Security

• Choose Password Expiry

• Then highlight your user that you would like to grant access for

• To grant access to each user first access security

• A Strong Password MUST be created for each user

• Click the enable access to mobility feature

• Choose the default lawyer for this person

• Set the password

• Now the user should be able to access PCLaw Mobility

Accessing Mobility

• The user then must user their username and password for PCLaw

• The user will then be able to use mobility

• You will first need to log into the mobility website

What is PCLaw Satellite?

• Satellite is another mobility feature for PCLaw

• It is an offline database that you export and import your data from and to

• Do not need to spend any additional money

• Do not require a constant internet connection

• Time Sheet / Fee Sheet / Quick Timer

• Expense Recoveries

• Calendar

• Contacts

• Notes

• Reports relating to the above

• Satellite users have the ability to work as though they are at the office with the same screens that they are used to

• All the regular functionality of Calendar, Time Sheets, even the register

• Time Sheet functionality is exactly the same.

• If the spell check is activated on the workstation setting tab then it will be available.

• Timer feature is also available

• Once downloaded run plrem120sp1.exe on the workstation you wish to install the satellite
