PCCRS Newsletter / Email for 2/23/14 1 Dear Friends of PCCRS, With all the news coming our way, this week's newsletter is a little longer than usual. Enjoy! Guess what?! We now have leased our own dedicated classroom space! We're calling it the Sage Room, as it's in the (blue) Sage Victorian building behind the Mainstreet Center…and will be used as PCCRS' primary location for classes and meetingsfor sharing and learning greater wisdom. We're having an "open house" this Sunday, 2/23 , after the 10:00 church service. You can walk across the parking lot, stroll through Sage Room, and then come back to the Chapel for refreshments. The Sage Room address is: 19731 E. Pikes Peak Court, Suite 204, Parker, CO 80138. At this point, the Sage Room is strictly for classes and meetings. We will be changing our mailing address for the church as soon as we get a mailbox key. The signage for the building and the suite door is in- process by the landlord's graphic designer to match the other tenants' signs. Sage Room has been gloriously blessed by our team of Practitioners. The artwork has been strategically placed. And the furniture carefully arranged by the Instructors for its first week of classes. We've even established a Lending Library in the room. (see the Education section below) We are open to receive donations of: (1) a VGA 23- to 30-inch TV/computer monitor (wall-mountable) that can hook up to a DVD player or laptop (for presentations)….and (2) a compact, compatible DVD player. We have substitute equipment that is being temporarily loaned to get us started. In other news this week, one of the PCCRS Soul Support team Practitioners has decided to seek a different Spiritual path. See the Ministry of Prayer section for the update…and a short description about what it takes to have an active Practitioner License. And lastly, if you're looking for a bit of fun, join us this evening (Friday, 2/21, 7:00 pm or dates next week) at Douglas County High School for "Shrek the Musical" where our very own teen and Children's Church staffer, James Zanre, is playing the part of Pinocchio. He promises that his nose really does grow! Here's the link to get your tickets right away. https://search.seatyourself.biz/webstore/webstore.html?domain=dchs&date=2014-2-20&event I am filled with gratitude and joy at the possibilities and manifestations of Good that are unfolding within our Spiritual community. Join us Sunday as we celebrate yet ANOTHER momentous event in our church's evolution. Thank you! Namaste. Rev. Carla

ERNEST WORDS

"Intuition is God in man, revealing to him the Realities of Being; and just as instinct guides the animal, so would intuition guide man, if he would allow it to do so." (SOM textbook, p. 342.2)

THIS WEEK'S INSPIRATION "Intuition is seeing with the soul." -Dean Koontz

Sermon Summary for 2/23/14 OVERVIEW: Since February is generally considered the month of Love, we benefit from that perspective through this month's theme: Embracing the Divine. We will present topics and ideas that invite us to take a step closer to the eternal source of Love. We can do this through the many practices taught in Science of Mind and other religions, such as meditation, reading, and prayer. We can also get closer to Spirit through connecting in consciousness on a daily basis, by paying attention to our intuition, and in surrendering the fight against the ego self and embracing God as our partner. The closer we bring the Divine Presence into our lives, the less need we have for all the challenges, fears, and distractions. What you focus on grows. Let it be Love and living an affirmative Life! THIS WEEK: I, I, Captain (Intuition & Introspection) Many times we think we are the "captain" of our ship, our own lives. Such is the direction toward which we strive and can achieve. Our destination depends on which guidance system we pay attention to. With a little introspection…an examination of your own thoughts and feelings…you can discover the driving thought patterns to what you are experiencing. Introspection provides the choice to continue such thought patterns or to be guided by something else…intuition. When you listen to intuition…your God voice…your Divine Self…the answers may not always be easy, the journey may include stormy waves, but the messages are based in Divine Truth and come from a place of unconditional Love for your highest and best Good. Join Rev. (Captain) Carla this Sunday as she offers principle-based direction by which we can steer our ship of Life and reach the stars!

MINISTRY OF PRAYER

This week one of our newest Practitioners, Katie Yavuz, decided to make a change to her Spiritual path and go in a different direction, away from being a PCCRS Licensed Religious Science Practitioner …and toward an independent expression of herself. We hold her in love, prayer, and for the highest and best good on her new journey.

* * * PRACTITIONER COMMITMENT The commitment made by a professional Practitioner to a church is a sacred and revered one...for both the church and the individual. It is a dedicated partnership in Spirit to serve the body of the church - its members and staff - from and with the Highest Consciousness. Practitioners provide Spiritual support to the congregation, minister, clients, and their community. In return, the minister (and Board) provides educational and Spiritual growth opportunities, a supportive team environment, and mentorship toward higher learning. Practitioners are the "healing arm" of the church and lovingly valued for the conscious-ness they bring to their sacred service. We are truly blessed by those who choose to be part of PCCRS. PRACTITIONER LICENSE The Practitioner's License is obtained after two to four years of specific classroom learning, usually through the church and minister to which they will later commit their time and attention. It is a mind-opening and life-changing experience! Students share and often bond deeply in their years together in this journey of the soul. Finally, the Practitioner completes specific tests before acquiring their "RScP" credential and License from the issuing and designated church. To keep the License "active," Practitioners are required to continue their Spiritual growth and education, do volunteer service efforts at church, perhaps teach, assist with Sunday services in specific roles, create their own "ministry," and work together in harmony with the church ministers and leadership. Having an active RScP License (in good standing) also allows the Practitioner to accept payment or love offerings for their prayer support with clients, often those coming from the church to which s/he is affiliated. Association and continuing service efforts to a particular church or organization is what gives the Practitioner's License its validity and "active" status. The Practitioner's "Code of Ethics" details many other requirements, benefits, and expectations of a Licensed (RScP) Practitioner. Through this column we will periodically explore certain aspects of this sacred service in the Religious Science church…and highlight the efforts of our PCCRS Practitioners.

* * * PCCRS PRACTITIONERS Each Sunday we have at least two Licensed Professional Religious Science Practitioners available to serve your spiritual needs and prayer requests. At the end of each service they are available to provide a complimentary mini-treatment to assist you through a challenging situation or celebrate a success. Be sure to avail yourself of this benefit. Serving you in prayer is a gift to them and serves all of us. Also, if you are experiencing especially challenging times or require more time than what Sunday's treat-ment provides, be sure to contact one of the PCCRS Practitioners (below) for a one-on-one, fee-based appointment. Here is your PCCRS Soul Support team of Licensed Professional Religious Science Practitioners:

Jan Hobbs - Evonne Levy - Irene McKnight - Katherine Ward Rev. Marilyn Lewis (Practitioner Coordinator) - Rev. Mike Ryan (Associate Minister)

M.O.S.E.S. (Men Of Spiritual Evolution and Service)

The men's M.O.S.E.S. group meets the second Sunday of each month, with the next meeting scheduled for March 9, 2014 at Noon. The group meets in Parker. Lunch is on your own (O.Y.O.). Now that we have a dedicated classroom/meeting room, the meeting location may shift. The March meeting location is to be confirmed and may be held at Sage Room. Rev. Mike will send out an email to the group shortly. ------------------- M.O.S.E.S.MISSION STATEMENT: To purposely expand our awareness of spiritual enlightenment through evolving growth of consciousness, prayer, and service to our brothers and sisters in God’s community. We discussed our current spiritual practice, be it daily, weekly or whenever the impulse strikes. As an outcome we decided having a prayer partner would assist in keeping the prayer focus a priority in our daily lives. Our endeavor is to be as clear a possible about what we desire or want to experience – then contact your partner and ask for prayer support. We will check in next meeting to share results. Those who were not in attendance, please contact me if you would like a prayer partner.

PCCRS Women's Group

Pre-requisite: Prosperity Plus (100) SELF-MASTERY course begins March 6. 10 wks/Thursday evenings. Tuition: $160. Pre-requisite: SOM Fundamentals 101 (formerly known as Foundations 101). This is one of the core classes toward Practitioner study. It is also great for anyone who wants to delve deeper into SOM and learn how to "master" your own thinking. Now that we have a dedicated classroom (Sage Room), the curriculum is starting to expand, the course schedule is being updated, and new information will be shared via the church website calendar and other flyers. We are especially looking forward to the variety of Sunday workshops to be offered in the months ahead by our Practitioners and other guest speakers. Stay tuned! We look forward to offering you the best in Science of Mind education and a variety of other spiritually-based curriculum throughout the year. Also, most books for classes can be purchased through the church "bookstore." Check the Welcome Center for current offerings, speak with Rev. Carla for specific orders, and plan ahead. We support your spiritual education in any way we can. PCCRS LENDING LIBRARY Another benefit we can now offer to our students and PCCRS congregants is the newly-created PCCRS Lending Library. We have a collection of books, DVDs, and CD sets that have been cataloged and shelved at Sage Room. (Feel free to donate additional materials to this collection through Rev. Carla.) If you find something that interests you, just jot down your contact details on the appropriate book card, take it home, and bring it back when you're done.
