Your PC comes with Microsoft Windows 10 Professional and Microsoft Home and Business 2010 already installed and activated. You can start using these products as soon as you power on your unit.

If you need to perform a factory reset on your PC you will have to follow the MS Windows Activation and MS Office 2010 Activation steps that can be found on page 6.

WINDOWS 10 & MICROSOFT OFFICE 2010 ACTIVATION

If you have reset your PC to factory settings, you will need to complete this Microsoft Windows 10 & Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010 Activation.

Product activation is an anti-piracy technology that is designed to make sure that the product is legitimately licensed. When you activate a product, no personal information is sent to Microsoft.

Product activation checks that the product key has not been used on more personal computers than are permitted by the Microsoft Software License Terms.

If you choose to automatically activate Windows online when you set up your computer, automatic activation begins trying to activate Windows three days after you turn on your PC for the first time.

Both Microsoft Windows 10 Professional and Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010 require activation.

Finding the Microsoft stickers with Product Key

WINDOWS 10 & MICROSOFT OFFICE 2010 ACTIVATION

You will need two separate product keys to activate Microsoft Windows 10 and Microsoft Office separately. The Microsoft stickers with the product key will be located at the back of your PC.

WARRANTY AND SERVICE

Important Notice:

Please keep the PC’s original packaging during the warranty period given that it will be required if you decide to return the PC.

To return the PC, you must first contact our Customer Service team and request an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number.

*CDI’s Standard Warranty does not cover wear and tear, software related issues, defects caused due to negligence, accidents, unreasonable use, modification, tampering, natural disaster or any other causes not specifically related to defective materials or workmanship. Batteries are covered for 90 days and guaranteed to work in a Windows environment (a minimum charge of 30 minutes in a Microsoft Windows environment).

This PC and LCD Monitor is covered by a 90-Day Standard Warranty*. Keyboard, mouse and hardware support for 90 days.

If you need a replacement for a part that is under warranty, such as a keyboard or mouse, we will simply ship it to you upon notification.

If the unit under warranty is defective and needs to be replaced, we will send you a shipping label so you can send us the defective unit free of charge. Once we receive the unit, we will send you a replacement.

If you decide to return the PC within 14 days of receipt for a refund, a $30 restocking fee will apply. You will be responsible for shipping the unit back in its original packaging at the location specified below. Once the PC and LCD Monitor has been received, a refund check minus any fees or charges will be mailed to the address on the original order.

Windows 10 has built-in recovery option provided by Microsoft. It can be accessed from within Windows or at the startup. If operating system fails to start, after a few attempts the recovery environment appears by itself, select ‘Troubleshoot’ and ‘Reset this PC’ to recover the drive.

To get started from within Windows, from Start menu navigate to SETTINGS > UPDATE & SECURITY > Recovery > Get Started and choose an option.

There are two options presented ‘Keep my files’ or ‘Remove everything’. If ‘Remove everything ‘option is selected, Windows 10 will remove Chrome browser as default browser and remove the Chrome links from desktop links. In order to restore back Chrome as default Browser, do the following once recovery is complete:

Navigate to Settings. You can get there from the Start menu.

Select ‘System’.

Click ‘Default apps’ in the left pane.

Click Microsoft Edge under the ‘Web browser’ heading.

Select the new browser (ex: Chrome) in the menu that pops up. Chrome is set as default browser.

Go to C:\Chrome folder and copy back the links in that folder to your desktop. Right click the wallpaper file in the same folder and select ‘set as desktop background ‘to get back the same background wallpaper as before.

Note:If you can't open Settings, you can get to recovery by restarting your PC from the sign-in screen. Press the Windows logo key +L to get to the sign-in screen, then hold the Shift key down while you select Power > Restart in the lower-right corner of the screen. After your PC restarts, select Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.

La activación del producto verifica que la licencia autentica no haya sido utilizadaen otras computadoras, de lo que Microsoft autoriza.

El computador portátil tiene una garantía estándar de 90 días*, la cual cubre una batería completamente funcional (una carga mínima de 30 minutos en Windows), la asistencia técnica de nuestro departamento de Atención al Cliente, y soporte del hardware por 90 días.Si usted necesita un reemplazo de una pieza que esté bajo garantía, tal como una batería o adaptador, una vez que usted nos informe, se lo enviaremos a su dirección.Si la unidad bajo garantía es defectuosa y necesita ser sustituida, le enviaremos una etiqueta de envío, la cual usted podrá utilizar para enviarnos la unidad defectuosa gratuitamente. Una vez que recibamos la unidad, le enviaremos un reemplazo.Si usted decide devolver su computador portátil dentro de los 14 días una vez recibido el producto y quisiera un reembolso, habrá un cargo de $30. Usted será responsable de enviar la unidad de regreso en su empaque original, el cual debe ser enviado a la dirección a indicada a continuación. Para iniciar el proceso desde Windows, haga click en “Start” y navegue hasta SETTINGS > UPDATE & SECURITY > Recovery > Get Started y elija una opción.

Seleccione ‘Troubleshoot’ y ‘Reset this PC’ para recuperar el sistema Windows 10. Este puede ser hallado dentro de Windows o desde el inicio del sistema. Si el sistema falla en reiniciar, después de varios intentos, la información de recuperación de Windows igualmente aparecerá en la pantalla sin requerir acción adicional.

Seleccione “Settings” (opción ubicada en el menú de “Start”).

Seleccione ‘System’.

Haga click ‘Default apps’ en la sección izquierda.

Haga click en Microsoft Edge debajo del título ‘Web browser’.

Seleccione el nuevo navegador (ex: Chrome) en el menú. Chrome es el navegador sugerido de manera automática.

Visite el archivo C:\Chrome y copie los links de ese archivo en su desktop.

Haga right click en la pantalla de fondo y seleccione ‘set as desktop background’ para recuperar la pantalla de fondo anterior.

Atención:Si usted no puede abrir la sección “Settings”, usted puede recuperar el sistema reseteando su PC desde la página de inicio en su pantalla. Presione Windows logo key +L para llegar a la pantalla de log-in. Luego presione la tecla “Shift” mientras secleccione Power > Restart en la esquina inferior derecha de la pantalla. Después de resetear su PC, seleccione Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
