Color The OZ Green Photography Contest Mechanics
Contest Mechanics
Backgrounder
Various activities are conducted throughout the whole campus for the student’s sake
and to promote camaraderie towards them. But this year, Adamson University
Chemical Engineering Students’ Society (AdUChESS) wants to promote
environmental awareness of the engineering students and to sustain OZ’s
surroundings through application of 3Rs (Reuse, Reduce and Recycle).
Theme
The OZ grounds has never been this greener until this coming activity. Before we
transform the OZ grounds into a greener one, Adamson University Chemical
Engineering Students’ Society (AdUChESS) wants to show to other students of
Adamson University and to the visitors and outsiders that OZ has its own unique and
beautiful sceneries. With this in mind, we designated “YOUR DREAM O.Z. SPOT” as
the theme for this very first Photography Competition.
Eligibility
The contest is open to both amateur and professional photographers.
Photos must be original; it may be an old photo or a new one but it should not have
won nor have been published in any book or photography magazine.
Photos must be captured throughout the OZ car park, OZ grounds, Ozanam Building
(OZ Building) only.
Participants may use any digital or film-based camera. Entries and the original photo
must be printed in full color on any brand of photo paper in 8R size (8 inches x 10
inches)
The participants may edit their work through any editing software.
Creative effects done within the camera at the time of exposure e.g. multiple
exposures, flash fill, lighting, filtration, etc. are allowed.
Digital retouching on density, contrast adjustments, minor cropping, burning, and
dodging can be done to the image.
Submission of Entries
Each entry together with its softcopy should be submitted in an envelope with a
COZG Photo Competition entry form in triplicate (one copy attached to the
photograph, one for the receiving staff, and one copy for the photographer-entrant).
Attachments should contain two pictures particularly the raw image (unedited) and
the official photo entry (edited).
The name of the contest participant should not appear on the face of the entry.
Entries should be submitted at the Chemical Engineering Department, 3rd floor of
OZ building near OZ Audio-visual room.
Photos must be submitted starting Tuesday, January 10, 2012, to gather votes as
early as possible. Late submission means less chance of voting to your entry.
Deadline for submission of entries is at 10:00AM of January 13, 2012.
Prizes at Stake
All winning entries will be awarded certificate and cash prizes.
All entries become the property of AdUChESS and the Ch’E Department which will
have the right to reproduce, exhibit, or publish the images for promotional purposes,
even without the acknowledgement of the photographer. AdUChESS and the Ch’E
Department may display the prints in a public venue, or publish them for the purpose
of promoting for the organization’s and school’s sake, without any financial
compensation to the photographers.
There will be no pre-registration of photographers. Only the actual entries in photo
form will require registration.
Voting System
There are two (2) ways to cast your votes:
***First is by submitting recyclable materials that will be converted to the number of
votes (e.g. one bottle of 350mL C2 is equivalent to 3 votes). Here is the conversion
of recyclable materials to votes:
Newspaper (broadsheet) = 4 votes
Newspaper (Tabloid) = 2 votes
White paper (stack of 20) = 7 votes
Plastic bottles:
350mL bottle = 2 votes
500mL bottle = 5 votes
1000mL bottle = 8 votes
1500mL bottle = 14 votes
Tin can / Soft drinks in can = 15 votes
***Second is through the use of Facebook likes. One (1) like per photo is equivalent
to one (1) vote.
You can vote to any photo as many times as you want.
