1.  G-way

G-way is the entrance to the services GRIPS provides. You are able to access it both on campus and from

the outside of the campus.

2.  Log in to G-wayAccess to G-way (https://gportal.grips.ac.jp/fw/dfw/ASTSV004/).

※You can also access to G-way through the [Intranet] on GRIPS official website.

On the log in page, put your GRIPS ID and the GRIPS password. Then, click [Login].

On the top page, this information is shown.

・Class Information: Announcement about the classes you have registered a week from today

・Schedule: Today’s schedule

・News: Announcement from GRIPS. Click on the title to read the message. 

4.  Menu

On the Menu bar, there are links you can access to other services.

If Pop-up block appears

If the message below shows up when you move to a new window, click [Options for this site] and select

[Always allow]. If the different message appears, refer to the Help of the browser.

1.  GRIPS Password

GRIPS password is used for all GRIPS network system and logging in to your PC. When you change your

GRIPS password, the password for all GRIPS network system will be changed.

2.  Change GRIPS passwordClick [Change Password] in G-way (https://gpw.grips.ac.jp/webmtn).

Enter your GRIPS ID and current GRIPS password and click [ログイン].

Enter the new password that is in between 6 to 16 letters in [New Password] and

[Confirm New Password], and click [保存].

Click [OK] to complete. 

The screen below appears once password change is completed.

Click [Logout].

※  If you change the password here, all passwords for log in to PC,

Webmail, SSL-VPN System, and Library System will be changed.

※  DO NOT CHANGE PASSWORD in other ways.

※  If you forget your password, contact to the IT Support Center.

3.  Check messages

Click [Inbox] to read messages.

※Emails larger than 20M cannot be received.

4.  Send a message

Click [COMPOSE]After composing an email, click [Send].

・ To add Cc or Bcc, click [Cc] or [Bcc]

・ To attach the file, click [Clip icon]

5.  Delete a message

Check the box next to the title and click [Delete].

※The message you deleted moves to the Trash, and the message is not completely deleted, yet.

① Check in the box next to the message you wish to delete.

② Click [Delete]

6.  Forward a message

Click [Settings] → [Forwarding and POP/IMAP] → [Add a forwarding address].

Add a forwarding address → click [Next].

Click [Proceed].

Click [OK] and check your email account to receive confirmation code.

Click the [link] to verify permission.

On the setting page, check [Forward a copy….], put the email address you wish to forward to, and

click [Save Changes].

1.  Your PC can be infected with virus in such ways:

Computer virus can harm your PC without any intentions.

Make sure to scan your computer regularly.

【Email】

・Delete an email immediately from a person you don’t know.

・Never open any suspicious attachments.

・Make sure to update [Windows Update].

・Disable [Preview].

【Web】

・Do not go to any suspicious websites. (It might install the virus automatically.)

・Do not download any unnecessary programs.

・Make sure to scan any downloaded files.

【Network】

・Do not share any unnecessary network.

・Exchanging media (CD-R, USB memory stick) and using any file share programs can bring virus.

・Use the unique password and change it regularly.

・Do not click on the URL on any chat programs, messengers (Skype, MSN, Yahoo Messenger), and

SNS (Facebook, mixi, etc.)

【USB memory stick】

・Do not connect a USB memory stick to a PC if the antivirus software is not installed.

・Scan a USB memory stick before it is connected to a PC.

2.  Update the virus definition files.

Double-click [Kaspersky] icon on the lower right corner.

The warning shows up if the virus definition files are old.

To renew the virus definition files, click [Update] → [Start update].

3.  Scan virus

Click [Full Scan] to scan everything in the PC.

It takes time to complete [Full Scan], but please do it regularly.

Click [Critical Areas Scan] to scan the areas that are more susceptible to infection.

It takes less time, but it doesn’t scan fully.

4.  Delete Virus

The result shows up after scanning is completed.

If any viruses were detected, click [Reports] to check.

Click [Unprocessed files] → [Delete].

Click [Quarantine] → [Delete].

How to use the scanner (Store to USB)

Insert the USB memory to the printer and choose [Store to USB].

Choose the format in the widow below.

Put the document either ① or ②, and press [Start].

①  Place the document face-up on the tray.

②  Place the document face-down and close the cover.

1.  Send print from PC

Choose the printer of your choice [4F-1], [5F-1], [5F-2], [5F-3], [5F-4] or [6F-1] and click [OK].

※ Choose [2-sided print], [Multiple-up] or [Output Color] in the [Property].

In the [Enter User Details] window, put [Billing ID] and [Password]. Then, click [OK].

※ You can choose whatever you like for [Billing ID] and [Password].

Insert the card in the card reader next to the printer.

※ GRIPS ID card is non-rechargeable.

Press [Charge Print].

Press [Service Home] → [Language] to change the language.

2.  Upload files through web browser

Click [My Drive] → [Upload files] and select the files to upload.

※Drag-and-drop files directly into web browser to upload is also available.

3.  Delete files through web browser

Select the files to delete and click [Remove] icon.

4.  Share files through Web browser

Select the files to share and click [Share] icon.

Enter the names or email addresses you wish to share the files with in [People].

Select the type of access and click [Done].

※Refer to the share setting below.

Can edit: Users can edit, print, and download the files. In default setting, users can share files with others.

Can comment: Users have the same access type as “Can view”. Users can only add/edit comments to the

files.

Can view: Users can view the files. In default setting, users can print or download files.

Click [Yes].

The person receives the share notification with the link to access the file.

5.  How to change the setting for “Only the owner can change the permissions”

Select the files to share and click [Share].

Click [Advanced].

Select the files and click [View details] icon from menu bar.

Click [Details] and check [Prevent viewers from downloading].

7.  Access through Google Drive

Double click the icon on your desktop to access Google Drive.

If Login was necessary, Enter GRIPS email address in [Email] and click [Sign in].

※Please add @grips.ac.jp after your student ID.

Enter GRIPS ID and GRIPS password and click [Login]

※@grips.ac.jp after your GRIPS ID is not necessary.

8.  Share files through Google Drive

Right click the files to share and click [Google Drive] → [Share].

Enter the names or email addresses you wish to share the files with in [People].

Select the type of access and click [Done].

Share files by referring to the item “Share files through Web browse” number 2 and 3.
