Telephone Network (PSTN) infrastructure• ILEC’s were assigned provincially after

deregulation. The ILEC in Ontario and Quebec is Bell Canada

• ILEC’s are mandated to provide interconnection to federally approved CLECs to their established networks

Voice over Internet Protocol

• Voice Quality – Voice is a mission critical application for business, and the quality of the phones and phone lines is a reflection of your business. Poor voice quality is simply unacceptable for businesses today.

• Cost – Delivering business-grade voice quality using IP technology requires a lot of bandwidth. Costs associated with the required bandwidth outweighed savings on line cost or long distance. Upgraded hardware came at a premium as well, not to mention additional monthly licensing or seat charges.

• Survivability – What happens if there is a network outage or power failure?

VoIP historically has not worked well for business due to three critical issues:

Page 8: Pbx Prod Presentation 10 15

The Fibernetics Solution

• We ARE the phone company and the data network provider.

• Our voice network is directly, physically connected to the PSTN, our data network provides a direct physical connection between our customer and our core network

• Our unique implementation of proprietary and open source technology allow us to leverage these advantages by being able to manage the voice path from end to end and provide true Quality of Service.

• In addition to toll-quality voice, we have implemented routing redundancy that allows us to provide ultimate survivability.

the PSTN, Internet, and Power• Fibernetics Digital PBX Configurations are mirrored across servers located in POPs

across the country – providing true geographical diversity• Fibernetics Digital PBX constantly monitors state of client side device, including

connectivity. Calls can be pre-configured to automatically forward to ‘offline’ numbers.

Multi-Site

• Multiple branches can be ‘peered’ together, providing local extension dialing between locations

• Call handling can automatically be forwarded from branch to branch in the event of local problems

• Extension pool can be shared across all sites, as can company dial by name directory

• Local calling areas are added together for all locations

• Local calling areas for all sites above would include the local callings areas for Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver added together, not just between the actual offices, further reducing long distance charges
