Advise the Bureau in the development of the Livable Streets Strategy from Sept 2016 – June 2017.
Assist in the development of Livable Streets Strategy elements.
Reflect upon and provide advice on trends in community placemaking, including but not limited to: barriers to community involvement, potential for public/private partnerships, and opportunities for innovation.
Act as a liaison to organizations and agencies, sharing information and soliciting feedback to inform the Strategy.

■ Attendance– Arrive on time and attend five to seven meetings.– If you cannot attend a meeting, you may invite a delegate.
■ In-Meeting Participation– Review meeting materials in advance of meetings.– Express concerns, issues and perspectives clearly, honestly and
early in the process. – Follow the Meeting Guidelines.
■ Outside of Meetings– Act as a liaison to respective organizations or agencies, if
applicable.– Speak about the project to the media and stakeholders in ways that
are supportive of the group process.

■ Listen carefully and speak honestly.■ Bring up issues or concerns early.■ Respect the views of others.■ Keep an open perspective.■ Critique issues, not people or organizations.■ Allow everyone to speak without dominating the conversation;
share the air.■ Take responsibility for the success of the meeting. ■ Listen and consider both community and citywide concerns. ■ Start and end meetings on time.■ Seek to provide solutions for issues or concerns that are raised.

■ Discussions will strive for agreement but consensus is not needed to move forward.
■ “Consensus” is defined as the point where all members agree on the best option for the group even if it is not each member’s personal favorite.
■ If consensus cannot be reached, then 2/3 of Committee members present must agree on a decision to be considered a group recommendation.
■ Any members who do not support the recommendation may prepare a separate written statement to be shared with project staff.
■ All opinions will be part of the meeting summary.

Comprehensive Plan Goals – A city designed for people– Connected public realm and open spaces– Public rights-of-way
Comprehensive Plan Policies– Create high-quality public places and street environments, activating
public space of streets and urban parks– Provide places for community activity and social connections – Allow community use of rights-of-way for purposes such as public
