GEA Refrigeration Technologies
Space-effective spiral freezers and chillers
GEA Maxi-Stack
engineering for a better world
GEA Maxi-Stack spiral freezers and chillers minimize the re-quired footprint and height as a result of their new self-stack-ing belt system. To increase the capacity of your existing freez-er lines under conditions of space constraints, the GEA Maxi-Stack represents an optimal solution that effectively in-creases your product output per unit of floor space.
GEA Maxi-Stack outlasts and outperforms all other self-stack-ing spiral freezers and chillers on the market today. The unique robustness and interlocking design of GEA Q-belt™ ensure a far more reliable stacking system.
The GEA Maxi-Stack utilizes the latest advanced features of the GEA spiral freezer range. With fully welded stainless steel floors and structures, the GEA Maxi-Stack is designed to be efficiently cleaned by a Clean-In-Place (CIP) system, which assures top qual-ity and safety for your food products.
System expansion features for reduction of defrosting times are seamlessly integrated into the freezer design, which improving efficiency and cleanability.
In touch with our technology
Conveyor belt• GEA Q-belt™: AISI 304 (1.4301) stainless steel, self-stacking conveyor belts • Improved patented interlocking to ensure robust, more stable
stacking and minimize friction between tiers of long belts
Drive system• Highly stable, proven roller drive• Low maintenance• Easy cleanability
Engineering design• Unique, superior-quality framework, infeed, and outfeed – technologically mature and custom-built at a GEA in-house engineering department – with fully welded AISI 304 (1.4301) stainless steel• Open access to all components from the unit floor level and intermediate level for simple maintenance and efficient cleaning
Insulated enclosure and floor• Extremely robust insulated freezer floors with integrated slope – fully welded by completely automatic welding systems; in-house customizing for each customer’s plant – no need for floor heating• Walls and covers in superior quality, fully welded or simply sealed – consisting of stainless steel panel modules with polyurethane foam cores• Mounting of all internal components on stud bolts, installed in the insulated floor – for complete load-relief of the interior surface and for excellent cleanability
Evaporator and fan • Evaporators with stainless steel tubes, heavily reinforced 0.6 mm-thick aluminum fins, aluminum end plates, and stainless steel water defrost drain pans• Fans and stainless steel air-routing chambers
Control system• Control cabinet made of AISI 304 (1.4301) stainless steel• Free-standing on its own frame• Programmable logic control and electrical power system by Allen-Bradley or Siemens - Color touch screen (10 – 15 “) by Allen-Bradley or Siemens - Display of refrigerant temperature, air temperature, and retention time - 24-hour event history • Possibility of remote maintenance by the manufacturer via Internet• Including complete control and power systems• Internal safety switching to protect staff, conveyor belts, and product load
Options• Automatic snow removal system (SRS) - The pneumatic SRS system continuously removes frost and ice from the heat exchangers, to extend the intervals between defrosting interruptions. - The system saves water and work - Snow removal increases uptime - SRS supersonic air blast saves energy• Clean-in-Place (CIP) - CIP systems with foaming and circulation functions operate like a giant dishwasher - Hygiene by design optimizes the cleaning cycle for superior food safety
