The College boasts 11 plasmas and 2 hD projectors, making it the perfect venue for viewing live sports. We also have a sofa area with plasma screens; great for large groups.

Wine Tasting Course Programme

he Young Vine and The Stage Door Restaurant have teamed up to introduce

the magic world of wines. Unique wine tasting courses are going to be run throughout the year; each course is divided into two grades and each

grade is comprised of three lessons. The lessons are usually two and a half to three hours long, with samples of wines, and in some lessons samples of food being served to the participants to allow them to learn about how to match food with wines.

The lessons are divided as follows:

Level 1- Lesson 1 -

History and Grape Varieties

- Lesson 2 - The Art of Winemaking

- Lesson 3 - Wine Tasting and Food

Pairing

Level 2- Lesson 1 -

France, Spain and Portugal

- Lesson 2 - Italy and the Rest of

Europe

- Lesson 3 - Rest of the World

The cost of a single level is £65. This includes samples of wines and food when

required, a smart briefcase with the complete course interactive presentation on CD

and a popular book to guide you through all the areas of wine production around

the globe. It is possible to follow the lessons on different courses, this will help

people who cannot make it due to work or family commitments; it is important to

follow the lessons in the correct order…1,2,3.

At the end of the course it is possible to apply for the WSET Level 1 exam. The

exam is usually held on April/May and the cost of it is £80.

a facelift, from entirely new bathrooms (at last!), to an upgrade of our sound system and a new state of the art lighting feature installed above the dance floor.Charlotte: It’s not all been about the big and bold though, we’ve made a number of subtle changes to the venue, to help achieve our goal of giving Babylon a fresh lease of life while not losing the essence and character of what has made us such a staple of Aberdeen nightlife.

In addition to the refurbishment, Babylon has also launched a free membership scheme. What are the benefits of a Babylon Membership?C: This guarantees you a discounted rate of entry and queue jump on each visit to the venue, as well as dedicated hostess service, first option on table reservations, and an exclusive monthly promotion.M: We wanted to ensure that our members feel looked after, and by giving back through our monthly promotions, which will range from our own venues in PB Devco to other independent retailers in the city, we are able to show our appreciation for their continued support.

hat a summer we have had up here at the Queen Vic

this year! Serving up our signature cocktail of live sport and music, we kicked the summer off in Brazil (why not?), upgrading all our TVs to 65” lEDs for a fantastic World Cup and we are pleased to have shared so many memorable moments with you all. Anyone who participated in our World Cup Forecast Sweeper would agree it was a fanatically unpredictable tournament! Our new TVs were put to good use again during Aberdeen FC’s European campaign, and the spectacle of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. We ended with our second annual Vic Fest, welcoming back some familiar faces from last year and many more emerging local artists to the Vic; once again we were blown away by the diversity and creativity

in the local music scene. Thanks to all who gave us such memorable performances and everyone who gave them such fantastic support. We also managed to raise almost £400 for charity with our Vic Fest t-shirts...see you for Vic Fest 2015!As a result of your continued support for your local, we are also delighted to share that the Queen Vic has been shortlisted for Community Pub of the Year at the highly recognised SlTN Awards, and recommended for our first Cask Marque!Thank you to all our regulars and visitors for another great summer here at the Vic; see you soon!
