Operating Instructions for
the Pay Tone Card (KX-TA30889)
In this manual, the suffix of each model number is omitted.
The Pay Tone Card supports the following. It detects the Pay Tone from the Central Office.
When a display proprietary telephone (KX-T7330, KX-T7030, KX-T7130 or KX-T7033)
user makes a call on an outside (CO) line assigned to detect the Pay Tone, they can see the
charge and duration of the call.
The manager (extension jack 01) can confirm, print and clear the charge and parameter of
each extension, each outside (CO) line and/or each account code. The manager can also
assign a charge limitation to prevent an extension user from making other outside calls, and
print out the call logs for each extension.
All 6 outside (CO) lines can be supported by installing 2 Pay Tone Cards. One Pay ToneCard supports 3 outside (CO) lines.

Call Log Printout
Allows the manager (extension jack 01) to print out call logs for each extension. The systemcan log up to 500 outgoing toll calls. The 501st call will overwrite the first call. The calllogs which have been stored after the manager cleared the parameter and charge for theextension can be printed out ( 2.1 Telephone Features, Charge Indication (Manageronly), Extension charge indication and call log print out). This is useful for billingpurposes, for example, an apartment or hotel.
Charge Fee Reference
Allows a display proprietary telephone user to view the charge and duration of an outgoingoutside call. The manager (extension jack 01) can confirm, print and clear the charge andparameter of each extension, each outside (CO) line and/or each account code. The managercan also assign the charge rate and decimal place, and charge limitation for each extension( 2.1 Telephone Features, Charge Indication (Manager only)).
An optional Pay Tone Card must be installed to the system.!!

!!
Budget Management
Limits the telephone usage for each extension which is enabled in program [925] BudgetManagement to a pre-assigned amount.
The manager (extension jack 01) can assign the charge limitation for each extension. If thepre-assigned limitation is reached, the extension user cannot make other outside calls until themanager clears the charge for the extension or raises the charge limitation for the extension( 2.1 Telephone Features, Charge Indication (Manager only), Extension charge indication
and call log printout, Budget Management).
An optional Pay Tone Card must be installed to the system.
If Enable is selected in program [926] Budget Limit Selection, 3 beeps will be heard 3times before an outside call is terminated due to the charge limitation. The 3 beeps willstart when the call reaches the last 3 units of the charge limitation.
Example:
Charge limitation: 40 US$ The cumulative total charge: 30 US$The charge rate for 1 unit: 1 US$
During a conversation
If the charge is 7 US$ (cumulative total charge 37 US$) the first 3 beeps
If the charge is 8 US$ (cumulative total charge 38 US$) the second 3 beeps
If the charge is 9 US$ (cumulative total charge 39 US$) the last 3 beeps
If the charge is 10 US$ (cumulative total charge 40 US$) the call will be terminated.
Regardless of pre-assigned charge limitations, emergency numbers can always be dialed. These are numbers assigned in [309] Emergency Dial Number Set.
