Annual labor cost in wood, cork, straw and plaiting materials manufacturing was P128,341 per worker. Around 82% of which or P104,659 were direct wages. Bonuses and gratuities and social security payments each accounted for 9% amounting to P11,517 and P11,310, respectively.

Data from the household-based Labor Force Survey showed that average daily basic pay of workers increased from P367 in 2014 to P443 in 2018 or by 20.7%. Workers’ average pay in the manufacturing industry also registered growth from P347 to P419, also by 20.7%, during the same period.
Average monthly basic pay of workers stood at P13,559 and monthly allowance at P1,716 based on results of the Occupational Wages Survey (OWS). Lower monthly basic pay and allowances were observed for workers in wood products, cork, straw and plaiting materials manufacturing at P9,846 and P468, respectively.
Among workers in wood products manufacturing covered by the Occupational Wages Survey, manufacturing supervisors had the highest monthly pay at P18,043, followed by accounting and bookkeeping clerks (P12,899) and woodworking machine setters and setter operators (P10,500). Wood treaters, and wood products assemblers were paid the lowest at P8,919 and P9,910, respectively. .
