Position Description: Vice President Purpose: The role of the Vice President is to assist the President in the general management and supervision of the affairs and operations of the corporation. The Vice President will assume the duties of the President in the absence or inability of the President. The Vice President is responsible for overseeing the effective management of the organization’s infrastructure. Responsibilities: Under the direction of the President of the Board of Directors, the Vice President’s responsibilities include: 1. Providing leadership to PAVRO as part of the Board of Directors 2. Providing support to the President. Assists with the preparation of agendas for regular and General Meetings, planning for the Retreat, act as a sounding board and is involved in discussions 3. Acting as signing officer of the organization 4. Ensuring communication link with Conference Committee and the Board 5. Ensuring effective management of PAVRO’s volunteers including Board members, Chair of committees and committee volunteers (assisting with recruitment, screening, orientation, placement, training and recognition) 6. Working with the Director of Strategic Partnerships to grow PAVRO’s partnership base. 7. Additional tasks as they relate to the position 8. Ensuring regular revision of Bylaws and policies 10. Complete/respond to any responsibilities associated with being a Board member (attending, preparing for, and participating in meetings/conference/AGM/retreat;

Position Description: Vice President

Purpose:The role of the Vice President is to assist the President in the general management and supervision of the affairs and operations of the corporation. The Vice President will assume the duties of the President in the absence or inability of the President. The Vice President is responsible for overseeing the effective management of the organization’s infrastructure.

Responsibilities:Under the direction of the President of the Board of Directors, the Vice President’s responsibilities include:

1. Providing leadership to PAVRO as part of the Board of Directors

2. Providing support to the President. Assists with the preparation of agendasfor regular and General Meetings, planning for the Retreat, act as a soundingboard and is involved in discussions

Experience/Skills Required:• A minimum of one year experience in an AVA Executive Position or PAVRO Board position• Strong belief in PAVRO’s mission, vision and values; able to articulate them• Demonstrated excellent leadership skills, including previous experience as Chair of a committee or Board • Complete understanding of the roles and responsibilities of not-for-profit Boards• Good organizational and time management skills• A demonstrated commitment and experience in supporting best practice in the engagement of volunteers.• Flexibility and patience

Terms:The Vice President is elected for a one year term (renewable for a second term if the President completes a second term) and is expected to move into the President position at the end of their term. Must be prepared to attend all Board meetings, trainings, conferences, retreats as well as any appropriate committee or outside meetings; may need to travel on occasion

Code of ConductAll Board members must agree to the following:● I will perform my duties responsibly and impartially to the standards set out by PAVRO in a manner that would bear public scrutiny.● I agree to declare any real, apparent or perceived conflict of interest in matters which may result in financial gain or personal benefit.● I further agree to maintain the confidentiality of any proprietary or privileged information to which I have access, both during and after my term on the Board of Directors. This information may include contracts, financial information, membership lists, staffing or personnel documentation and/or discussions about PAVRO business.
