The 2016-2017 year has come to an end, however staff is already looking forward to welcoming students back in the fall. A number of events are already being planned. Once again, Paul Rowe will take part in Care to Share”. From September 5-15, we will collect new or gently used clothing and school supplies to help those in our area who are in need. Other September events being planned include: Tim Hortons Coffee for a Cause International Literacy Day School Photos Back to School Student BBQ Meet the Family BBQ and Social evening Terry Fox Run Orange Shirt Day We are also very excited about our library transformation! Over the summer, our tables and soft seating will be replaced with new, modern furniture. We will also be adding a booth, individual soft seating and two mobile bookshelves. These changes will create a flexible space, allowing us to more easily customize the room as needed for various activities. In general, more groups of students will be able to work in the library at the same time. The majority of the work is expected to be completed before students return to school on September 5th. Parents and Guardians:

Grade 9 students, along with family, friends and staff, celebrated their upcoming transition to high school.

The 2016-2017 year has come to an end, however staff is already looking forward to welcoming students back in the fall. A number of events are already being planned.

Once again, Paul Rowe will take part in “Care to Share”. From September 5-15, we will collect new or gently used clothing and school supplies to help those in our area who are in need. Other September events being planned include:

Tim Horton’s “Coffee for a Cause”

International Literacy Day School Photos Back to School Student BBQ Meet the Family BBQ and

Social evening Terry Fox Run

Orange Shirt Day

We are also very excited about our library transformation! Over the summer, our tables and soft seating will be replaced with new, modern furniture. We will also be adding a booth, individual soft seating and two mobile bookshelves. These changes will create a flexible space, allowing us to more easily customize the room as needed for various activities. Help Wanted: Spare Bus Drivers & Casino Workers

Casino Volunteers: The Paul Rowe School Foundation is looking for volunteers to work a casino in Grande Prairie on July 30th and 31st. The money raised is used to purchase equipment for the school, which benefits all Paul Rowe students. Some expenses, such as hotels, are covered. If you are able to volunteer please contact Leanne Pharis at (780) 626-5023.

Spare Bus Drivers: Manning is experiencing a shortage of spare school bus drivers! Apply to join PRSD’s team of professional school bus drivers—paid training, competitive wages and great hours are just some of the benefits. If interested, or to submit a resume, contact:

‘Coffee for a Cause’ mobile coffee van is coming

to Paul Rowe!

Thursday, September 7th 11:30 a.m. — 3:00 p.m.

Paul Rowe Jr/Sr. High School and Tim Hortons High Level invites you for a

coffee as a welcome back to school!

Donations will be accepted with all proceeds going to Food for Thought.

You are Invited to Paul Rowe’s “Meet the Family” Evening

The staff at Paul Rowe are excited to meet our students families!

Please join us for our BBQ and Open House!

Thursday, September 14th 5:00 –7:00 p.m.

Burgers, hot dogs, salads, juice. Gluten-free options will be available as well.

As the school year winds down, we are already looking ahead to the 2017-2018 school year! Student supply lists can be downloaded from our website at www.paulrowehigh.ca.

The school office will close June 30th and will re-open on August 28th.

Care to Share? From September 5-15, we will be collecting new or gently used clothing and school supplies to help those in our area who are in need. Supplies will stay within our school and clothing will be given to the yellow house to be passed on anonymously.

The school community enjoyed a lunch of stew and bannock for Aboriginal Day!

Tristan N. and Kelsey C. were announced as our June Athletes of the Month!

Our Open House included a BBQ, school tours, demonstrations and parent meetings.

The Class of 2017 visited Manning Elementary School and Rosary School for a “Grad Walk”. Students and staff lined the hallways to cheer them on and celebrate their achievement.

Senior High Art students gifted some of their paintings to Manning long term care!

The Staff at Paul Rowe would like to wish everyone a wonderful, safe & relaxing summer!

All staff who attended and opened up their classrooms to highlight some of the great things that are happening at Paul Rowe;

Mr. Matt Taylor, Mrs. Vikki Presakarchuk and Mrs. Anita Bak for hosting the parent information sessions.

Mrs. Vikki Presakarchuk for organizing the Grad Walk, along with Manning Elementary School and Rosary School staff. Thank you also to Dale Pemberton for volunteering her time to drive the school bus.

Shelly Lemon for helping make Bannock for Aboriginal Day and Mrs. Audrey Dittrick for cooking the stew and organizing.

Senior High Art students for donating their paintings to the Manning Long Term Care unit. Thank you also to Cheree Petkus and Mrs. Vikki Presakarchuk for facilitating this donation.

North Peace Applied Research Association (NPARA) for allowing our Gardening students to help out at the North Star farm.
