The family would like to invite you to join them for fellowship
and lunch following the services at the Oasis Bar and Lounge at 1145 Main Street
in Sturgis. We thank you for your presence and condolences.
Paul John Engel, 49, passed away, surrounded by his family after a long illness, on Monday, August 16, 2021, in Sturgis, SD.
He was born on March 26, 1972, to Patricia and Paul Engel in Sturgis, SD.
Paul enjoyed spending time with family and friends, always brightening up every room he entered. He loved to do anything outdoors to include: fishing, hunting, barbequing, and camping. Paul was always looking to get into mischief, whether to give himself a laugh or others.
He was a jack of all trades and was talented at anything he did. He worked in construction, trucking, diesel mechanic, cooking, and many other things. He was always willing to help those who needed him without anything in return. Paul could fix almost anything, and always used one of his infamous quotes, “If I can’t fix it, then it’s not broke”.
He is survived by his daughter, Allison (Hunter) Bregar, and grandson, Stetson Bregar; step-daughter, Ijzaya (Tommy) Meyers, and granddaughter, Adalynn Meyers; sisters, Chris Engel Maltaverne, Amy (Preston) Reece; and half-sister, Missy (Adam) Avery; nephews, Austin (Krista) Engel, Dion Reece, Roman Reece, and Colton Avery; nieces, Emily Maltaverne, Teagan Engel, Ariah Engel, Brianna Engel, Amara Reece, Sophie Avery, Cece Avery, and Addie Avery; great-nieces, Aubree Engel, and Hazeli Engel; great-nephew, Hayden Wipf-Engel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Paul Engel; grandparents, Charlotte and Harold Hehn, and George and Elsie Engel; and brother, Adam Engel.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
Condolences may be sent to www.kinkadefunerals.com.

A life well lived is a precious gift, of hope and strength and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place. It’s filled with moments, Sweet and sad with smiles And sometimes tears With friendships formed And good times shared, And laughter throughout the years. A life well lived is a legacy, Of joy and pride and pleasure A living, lasting memory Our grateful hearts will treasure.
